AFARR was generous enough to send me some precharged rechargeable cells to do a couple more battery tests. He sent a Duracell "Duraloop" and a Rayovac Hybrid. I'll report back in about 20-25 days with results of my second test and start the third.
Marshall, any news regarding availability? |

Sad to report that the Rayovac Hybrid didn't last as long I had expected. Unfortunately because of that I don't have an exact run time for this battery since it caught me completely off guard. The last time I can verify that I saw the red dot on was at the end of my range session this past Sunday the 16th at 2pm. I had been checking it every 4 hours for the first few days but then went to every other day since I expected it to last at least 20 days. So for this Rayovac Hybrid I could only verify from 20120910@1316hrs to 20120916@1400hrs for a total of 143 hours 44 minutes. I'll have to recharge this battery and try the test again. AFARR noted that the battery was 1.4VDC and 1913mAH right off his charger. When I received it it was 1.33V and that's the voltage it started with. Right now it reads 0.85VDC For now I'm going to move on to the Duracell Rechargeable "Duraloop" he sent me. He noted 1.43VDC and 1979mAH right off his charger. I am starting the test now (20120919@0210) and the voltage reading is 1.34VDC. |

Factory has finally started shipping other products they make for us so I have renewed hope. |

I am starting the test now (20120919@0210) and the voltage reading is 1.34VDC. Thanks again to AFARR for sending me these 2 rechargeable batteries for testing. Completed the Duraloop test. I checked it last night just after midnight (0030) while I was doing work on my 15-22 (where my red dot is mounted) before I went to bed and it was still good decently bright. This morning at 0500 it was really dim and just now at 1200 it's very faint. I can only see it with the front dust cap on. I'll say that it was last usable was at 0030. This bring the total time for the Duraloop to 7 days, 21 hours 20 minutes or 189 hours and 20 minutes. Disclaimer, this is a sample size of one sample of each battery. I am also no battery expert and am using rudimentary math for estimated run times. I also work and sleep so I can't monitor the test all the time. (Note, I've changed the method of calculating the estimated runtimes based on brightness 1 being 100%, divided by 7 equaling 14.2857% for each brightness level. Below is the previous calculation recalculated followed by the latest two tests.) Energizer Ultimate Lithium 1 = 4077.5 hrs 2 = 3495 hrs 3 = 2912.5 hrs 4 = 2330 hrs 5 = 1747.5 hrs 6 = 1165 hrs 7 = 582.5 hrs Rayovac Hybrid 1 = 1213.31 hrs 2 = 1039.98 hrs 3 = 866.65 hrs 4 = 693.32 hrs 5 = 519.99 hrs 6 = 346.66 hrs 7 = 143.73 hrs (* 2 days of missing checks at end of test) Duracell "Duraloop" 1 = 1325.31 hrs 2 = 1135.98 hrs 3 = 946.65 hrs 4 = 757.32 hrs 5 = 567.99 hrs 6 = 378.66 hrs 7 = 189.33 hrs I'd like to retest the Rayovac Hybrid, and even this Duraloop, but I currently don't have a charger capable of charging individual cells. I'm going to move on to testing a Duracell and Energizer Alkaline in the meantime. |

Very interesting tests on these batteries. I've been keeping up with these tests on knowing which batteries to put away for storage.

I think the best bet for long term storage would be the Energizer Lithium cells as they'll have the longest shelf life and less susceptible to temperature fluctuations. I've been pretty busy with work and family stuff. I did manage to get one alkaline test done: Panasonic Plus Alkaline 1 = 1869 hrs 2 = 1602 hrs 3 = 1335 hrs 4 = 1068 hrs 5 = 801 hrs 6 = 534 hrs 7 = 267 hrs Next will be a Duracell or Energizer alkaline. |

I love my Gen II Multi Reticle (Got it last week). Put about a 100 rounds down range with my PSA AR and everything worked perfect for the first time shooting the rifle. Red Dot had no problems. Quick question (yes I have googled), has anybody tried to screw in the Lucid 2X magnifier? I am wondering why the rear portion of the sight is threaded. I am thinking about getting the PA magnifier because the Red Dot has worked so well but I am also thinking the Lucid might work great on this.

Got my gen 2 red dot after the new year and it is a quality piece! I waited to post until I had a range report. Two small adjustments Andi was dead on! A friend of mine like it so much he is waiting for them to be back in stock...
Thank you Primary Arms! |

I noticed on the Primary Arms website the AA models are no longer listed.
Was this product discontinued? |

Marshall mentioned last month that he hoped to have production models in by the end of May for inspection. |

Is there any word in when the multi reticle version will be back in stock? Thanks I check several times a day, but it looks like ETA is this month. That should still hold. All the parts are ready except the new custom LED we are using. They are scheduled to hit the factory late next week. |

Looks like the ETA slipped a little on these. View Quote We always have the factory send 10 random production units before a order ships. Under heavy recoil a few did not hold zero. I put the shipment on hold. I will be at the factory next week and we need to figuere out what the hell they did wrong. |

Held to high QC, you can get good stuff from the factories there. |
