To hell with it, I'll start it off! Gen 7 mounted on the Ultimak package deal that PA gave me. Thanks again!

I've been thinking about that setup for my SLR-107F... What do you think of it so far?

I'm pretty happy with it. I did notice this morning that I was getting a little reflection off of the rear glass; not enough to make a difference. Marsh has some great products. Cowitnessing isn't difficult with this setup.

I have a gen 7 on my Ruger MKII and I like it a lot
. My first 5 shot group at 25 yds I fired with it after mounting it on the pistol.

No pics right now, but on Saturday I shot 120 rounds thru my Ultimak-railed Romanian and was thoroughly impressed. After dialing in, I was consistently hitting 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards and 2-3 inches at 100 yards - perfectly acceptable to me. I ripped thru those rounds pretty quickly, but if I settled down I'm sure I could hit even better. I was just a bit excited at the time!

My new Gen 7 on a Daniel Defense 1 o'clock rail. Sitting on my SPR build.

I got mine today. I'm actually quite surprised at how well made it feels. It securely mounted to the Ultimak and co-witnesses nicely.

The Micro on the AK74 is one I bought about a year and half ago, while the one on the Mini-14 is the Gen 7 I just got this past week. Both Ultimak rails came from Primary Arms as well. Both co-witness perfectly.

I ain't here for a long time. I'm here for a good time.

Just curious, what is the reasoning for moving the brightness turret from the side to the top?

Does it bring the objective lower?

Any other significant differences versus your earlier models?

This was done in response to AK gas tubes (Ultimak rails) overheating the battery and electronics, effectively killing the unit. The turret "on top" is unique to the Gen 7 models and there are models with the turret on the side, but they are not recommended for use with an AK.

Ah, thermal management, duh. I should've figured that out.

I wonder if, as the consumer, I could fit some really thin low-thermal-conduction material between the mount and the rail to help with this... When I get mine I'll have to experiment.

Just got the Micro Dot, I love it. Very crisp and bright dot, really nice defined clicks on all the dials, and just feels well built...kudos to Primary Arms on a fine sight. The UTG mount seems really solid as well...provides a tight, even grip to the rail. And of course, the shipping was very fast =)

EDIT: I got a second Micro Dot for my Browning Buck Mark...
