Thanks Marsh. The scope and mount looked so good, I realized my sub-par point and shoot pics weren't doing it justice so I dug out the good camera gear for a second shoot.
Is there a cat tail option that would work with the 1-4x? Thanks, Dave |

Question... Thinking about picking one of these up. I've always liked the look of these style tactical scopes, I really like the Trijicon TR24 but frankly, I can't afford $800+ dollars lol. I thought this would be a good choice for my weekend plinker. That said, I bought a clone ACOG 4x scope a while back and the eye relief was HORRIBLE!!!!! I literally had to run the scope as far back as I could with my eye on TOP of the POS to get a full view of my target.
I was just looking at some of the pictures in this section and most of you have them mounted pretty far forward. A few inches forward to be exact. Is the eye relief really good enough that you get a full picture/target view? If that is the case, I'm sold. I figured I wasn't going to get good sight picture without spending a few hundred. I understand you get what you pay for in most cases but this might actually work for me. Thanks guys! |

These have 3.5" of eye relief and I recommend a extended mount if you run NTCH. Not sure what you had but as a comparison a 4X Acog only has 1.5" of eye relief. If you try one and are not completely satisfied I will gladly take it back for a full refund. Marshall |

OK! One more question for you Marsh!
I'm going to use Mr. Oleg Volk's pictures for example. That mount he is using on his, does it sight high enough to that a Matech rear right can sit under the scope? I see a couple pictures of TROY and Magpul BUIS's but I'm thinking the Matech might be a tight fit with that mount. Thoughts? Personal experience? |

Is this close enough to a true 1x that it can be used like a red dot for close range?

I am thinking my boys may have to get the hand me down M3 MR I just got for XMAS. The M3 was my first red dot as I did not know if I would like them, and I fell in love with the fast target acquisition vs. just point shooting. Now I want something that will serve dual purpose between the red dot and precesion capabilities without spending $800, hell I would just build another AR for that. Marsh - Any chances of coming out with one with some sort of BDC reticle? |

Marsh,
I want to rig up a WASR-10 for my "behind the door," gun. I seriously think this scope would be great, how would you suggest rigging it? I also have a pre-ban, A-2 with pencil barrel, how would you mount this scope? Thanks, |

On the WASR a side mounted rail will work you will be further back than normal cheek position but would work. For HD a red dot would be a lot quicker and with the right rail you would have cowitness with your irons if sthe optic fails. . You can just use a scope rial on top of the carry handle but really really bad cheek position. |

Mine is still kicking. love it. I have mine on a LaRue mount as shown in my blog and routinely switch between my microdot and this. Both work perfectly and have shown no signs of issues. All I've had to do is replace batteries in both due to regular use.
I particularly like the fact that the 1-4 keeps plenty of eye relief and is nice and clear. It doesn't compete with high end glass for clarity and crispness, but it's excellent in the sub $500 range. I've been happy with all my Primary Arms stuff. Nothing's failed, worn out, started getting loose or acted up over a couple years of steady use now. Even the bikini covers and flip caps on my earlier purchases have survived, much to my amazement, usually that stuff doesn't last under the amount of use they've seen, regardless of the source. Normally I'm not a fan of "Made in China" but in this case it's "Made in China to MARSH's Requirements" and that seems to make a huge difference. I'd be willing to bet that my Micro has seen more use than most will get in their whole service life, and it works like new. My M3 multi still works great but hasn't actually been to the range in about a year now. I need to get a QD mount for it I guess. My 1-4's relatively new but has quite a few rounds downrange so far and will probably see more use than any of my other AR optics this year, it's just a super practical scope. |

Ordered my 1-4 last Friday and it arrived today!
Great customer service and good product. I'll post some pictures once I get it setup and running. Thank you Primary Arms |

I came to the thread looking for comments before I bought, and (although I prefer your female models) I have to admit that I really like the composition of this photo. |

Is there a distinct advantage to ordering the Deluxe Extended mount over the regular Regular AR15 Scope mount? It seems there are people using both, and by the looks of things, it places the scope in relatively the same area, what would be recommended? I'd like to get the most of both the 1x zoom and 4x zoom. Which mount would serve me best?
Thanks! |

Marsh, seems like the standard mount and the deluxe extended put the scope in nearly the same location. Any benefit to one or the other? They the same height?

Needed if you shoot NTCH. It also has a larger clamping surface and two cross bolts. Less chamce of it shooting loose. Marshall |

Look up "three gun gear" on the net . . . . I had to get the one made for the Mullet scope. Good luck!

I've been looking at the various 1-4 scopes around, and the PA 1-4 looks like exactly what I need, plus the reviews are great. I have one question before I order...my AR has a non-removable carry handle. What mount do I need to use this scope? I've though about the Basic mount with rings on your site, will this work or is there a better option? Such as getting a basic weaver mount and rings? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Anybody tried one on a 458 SOCOM, 450 BM, etc since it's nearly perfect for that range? If so, what mount?
FWIW, I / we have a couple of PA optics and am very impressed to date. Thanks! B2 Basis of my question is the recoil on big bore ARs reminds me much more of a 20-ga shotgun. In the past, I know shotguns, heck even more so air guns played hell with older precision rifle optics due to either a strange shock curve or spring-induced vibrations... I'm guessing it's no longer a worry, especially in an AR platform with a decent mount. Hmm, guess the same question goes for a mount other than LaRue, and yep I'm a LaRue "fan-boy"! Just trying to learn... |

Babirl,
A friend uses 1-4x on a bolt action in 450 Marlin. Recoil similar to 3.5in slug –– and the scope has held up over 200 rounds so far. |

ROTC from where? |
