Got my two today and one is already riding on my 10/22 folder and zeroed. Quick question, what is the difference between a MD-06 and an MD-09? Both appear to look the same at a glance and have a removable mount. I have a MD-09 in an ADM mount that I bought used a while back that sits on my beltfed but the current ones I bought off the website are MD-06. Any differences? The question has probably been asked before, so please forgive my ignorance. Fast shipping as usual from PA, these are such nice sights for the $$.

The front glass piece is supposed to sit in such a way that the top sits rearward of the the bottom of the glass right? I just noticed this on my new PA Micro. Off angle as if glass is falling backwards into the sight.
ETA better explain my question |

I didn't bother reading like a normal adult; was too excited to get it on there and just noticed that last night for the first time. |

I've had mine out to the range a few times now and can safely say that, using the AD mount, it holds zero. Have had the thing on and off several times and it holds well.

Is it okay to tighten the nut on the qd mount? Min keeps coming loose. Twice now in 250 rounds and has rubbed the finish of the upper.

Just got my MD06l in today and it looks awesome. I do have a question though. It looks like there is a big glob of epoxy that isn't in the right place. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j286/Derek1387/20130831_144747_zps43c0a39c.jpg Is that right? View Quote That is the bonded emitter. Yes it is in the right place for the MD06L |

Ok. The only reason I asked is because it seems to take up a lot if the sight picture when looking directly through it.
Thanks Marshall. |

Here is my abused and tortured micro-dot from PA, so far I am extremely impressed. It has survived several drop/toss/smashed tests, not only that it also survived being chew up by my german shepherd . Still holds zero, it sits on my rifle dynamic AK . My next test after replacing the o-rings, will be to freeze it in a ice block and smash it it loose just to see how it fares.

Didn't realize when I ordered that I was ordering the one with the controls on the left... but hey.
So far I love this little optic. Was super easy to install and sight in. I now want one for every rifle (I'll be ordering two more as soon as I can). Just installed... Needed paint! I've since moved the sight back almost up against my rear sight. Quick video of unboxing and install. http://youtu.be/yd1SZKu0uVM |

I have a PA Special purchase micro that just passed the 2,000 hour mark. I swapped in a Duracell and left it on setting 5.

Nice looking rifle as well. My mini critique so far: Uses: (1) Iron Sight 3 Gun Setup, and (1) 1 o'clock Mount on SPR, (1) SBR Brightness: The adjustment is a broad enough scale that you can achieve most of what you desire, day or night. I have found myself searching for the dot on very sunny days, but have done the same thing with certain Aimpoints so until I have run it at several matches I'll leave it at that. I think if it was any brighter it would end up being quiet fuzzy and right now it isn't too horribly bad. Mounting: I have the QD, adjustable riser on most of my PA red dots, except my SPR mounted one. The QD mount is adjustable, exceptional quality for the price, and can be adjusted to be as snug as you want. I am actually fairly impressed by these risers so far, and now have a total of 4 PA red dots because of them. The tension screw mount is what it is. I am always cautious of tension screw mounts on budget optics, but I didn't feel like I was going to easily strip this one at all. Nothing really to be said about it accept that for now its doing its job and didn't seem to be like a complete POS to date. Zero: Both my SPR and SBR had the mount on, zeroed and then dismounted. Both waited patiently on my bench to be remounted so they weren't tossed around or anything, but both returned to zero. My micro dot on my SBR had about 1,000 rnds through it before being dismount and my SPR about 250. Not bitches here. The Iron Sight 3 gun setup mentioned under uses is a friend's gun. I hooked him up with an extra red dot that I got while on sale, and he shot the last 3 gun match with it. He echoed everything I have said here. |

I put my Black Friday special microdot on an upper I just assembled from a mix of old and new parts, zeroed the irons, then moved the dot to the top of the front sight.

Got my MD-06L and ADM mount today. Took the new toys to the range and everything exceeded expectations. Red dot held zero, mount returned to zero. Lower 1/3 cowitness worked great; very intuitive. Primary Arms was great to deal with. I promptly received notices confirming my order, and tracking information once it shipped. I placed my order 8/30, and got my package today (would have been yesterday if not for the holiday.) Unexpected - I got no less than four wrenches with the sight, (at least one came with the mount,) as well as thread locker. Everything I needed for installation was included. Very pleased I'll post pics if I can get some good ones. ETA - Pics. PMAG cover is nice for scale. http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj241/proud2deviate/DSC00568.jpg http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj241/proud2deviate/DSC00566.jpg http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj241/proud2deviate/DSC00571.jpg View Quote I'm a mile late in quoting this post but wanted to say cool 1911 grip on your AR! |

So, here's a pic of the "replacement" Micro I was shipped. I think I was just sent back the original sight. http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd451/gms187/image_zps32e3c4a7.jpg The rep I spoke with at PA says he didn't see this streak when they got it back, and said it must be my interior lights reflecting off of the front lens. Fair enough, so I waited until this morning and took the thing outside, while the sun was still rising and while it was snowing, so not that much light, and natural light at that, and the streak is still there. Two guys I work with looked through it and saw it easily too, but apparently PA says they don't see anything and I don't know what to expect from a red dot, even though I have a couple other good ones. This was just going to go on a .22 upper I'm putting together. I had a good experience with this company more than a few times, but I have to say I'm disappointed with the service I'm getting now. ETA: 2nd pic is with the red dot OFF since they also tried to say that a glare sometimes will happen with the emitter turned on. ETA2: Just got a reply with a return label, still being told this is normal and I should just return it if I'm not happy. Ok then. No one else with this same sight that I've talked to sees any type of streaking as mine shows...guess I'll buy something different for the .22. View Quote If you look at it closely, it's the reflection of the emitter. I can see this sometimes if I have it at a certain angle with interior lighting. |

weird and a bummer b/c my MD-06 is awesome and I've found their service to be top notch. just my 2 pesos though.

View Quote That was my guess as to what the issue was too, but the problem with these two I was sent (maybe just the same one twice?) was that I could see that streak in any light, even outdoors in low morning light...and it wasn't just the streak in the photos as I noted, but everywhere above/left of the streak was tinted red as well. When I asked about what was going on, I didn't get any answers other than "Have you ever used a red dot before?" and "It's normal to do that." I picked up a Sparc now for the .22, and it has no issue at all when looking through it. Oh well. |
