I was comparing a barrel from ARP and one of your ZM4 barrels I purchased. The main difference I noticed was that the outside of yours seems coated, whereas the ARP barel is left as is after treating.
Do you do Melonite nitriding or something a bit more intricate like a Plasma Assisted Nitrocarburizing? What is the reason for coating the outside? Thank you |

Salt bath nitriding has been used to date, but having said that DSA is out of nitride finished components. The relevant advertisements here have been updated. For now components will be offered with a Parkerized finish, but there may be other finish options in the future. Thanks! |

I should have received a nitride treated middy fluted, but it is parked outside too. Is this barrel actually nitrided?? How can I verify this DSA? |

Is there a specific reason for discontinuing the use of nitrided barrels? I thought they were supposed to be more favorable than chrome-lined barrels for accuracy and longevity?

Nitride coating was outsourced and the vendor was no longer able to meet DSA's demand. |
