Really have the itch to buy one of these lowers and put a Form 1 on it to SBR it as soon as possible. Both the stripped and complete lowers are temporarily out of stock. Any idea on when they might come back?
Thank you |

What was the price on them? View Quote Complete - $349.99 Stripped - $249.99, but they were on a sale for $229.99 If you're ever curious of the price of an out of stock item, click the compare button on the product's page. After that, click the compare button at the top right of your browser page. This will show you the item's last listed price. |

Thanks for the response, hopefully I can jump on one as soon as I receive notification they're in stock. Planning on a 10.5" upper with an LWRC UICW stock and my Dead Air Sandman L can on the end. |

Huh, in AKOU's video of it they showed the PSA rep taking the upper off the KS47, and then putting it onto a regular AR lower fed by AR 7.62x39 mags.
So is the KS47 upper also backwards compatible with a regular AR lower? |
|
I'm more concerned about getting a lower, though. I'm going to have a Form 1 and a check waiting on it as soon as it comes into my dealer's possession.
After that, I'll have 5-6 months to scrounge up the parts. |

This may work, provided you have the hybrid bolt from the KS-47 upper Edited to clarify: The KS lower will only work with a KS upper. a standard ar15/47 upper is not wide enough to accept AK magazines. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The carrier is proprietary for use with the KS47 lower and AK mags, so it would not likely be needed for use with the KS47 upper when used with a standard lower and AR47 mag, a standard AR47 BCG should work fine...unless there is something that we end users are not yet aware of. This is something I intend to do a thorough analysis of once I can get the parts, but I am not buying a complete KS47 upper, only a stripped upper and lower (and BCG) to build out...so it may be a while until I can post any definitive info. |

The bolt and carrier are modified to work with the AK magazines. You will need a KS47 complete BCG for the system to function as designed. |

Curious to see what makes it different than a standard upper. The AK mag is much wider than an AR magazine. As such, the AK magazine will not fit into an AR upper, and a standard forged AR upper does not have enough material in the sides to be able to make the magazine fit. |

Thats not what I was told before...I specifically asked if I could use my own bolt in your new carrier and was told that it should work fine in the KS47 platform (I have a matching bolt and barrel). Why would I need to use the hybrid bolt if I'm using my own barrel? What has been changed on the bolt itself? Really its no big deal if I have to use the complete BCG on the KS47 platform, but I just want to have the correct info prior to making any investment in this. Also, I need to know that I can indeed use my own barrel as my interest in this will likely end if this is not the case. Also when using a standard AR lower and AR47 mags, why would the complete hybrid BCG be necessary? |

Our testing indicated the bolt needed to be modified for best performance in the KS with the AK magazines. If you intend to use the KS upper with an AR lower and AR47 magazines, you should be ok. BUT You loose the ability to run reliably with the KS Lower. |

Can non-PSA 7.62x39 AR barrels be used in the KS-47? View Quote Provided the headspace checks out, yes, it is a standard ar-style design. However, while the vast majority of barrels should be ok, due to the lack of a military spec, non-5.56 barrels can have differing tolerances with regard to chamber depth and extension lug depth. If you are going to build from scratch, be sure to have a good set of headspace gauges, and check your barrel to bolt before assembly. |
