Why not just shoot it and see if it works first?

The gas port is very much like choosing a non-adjustable camshaft for an engine. Different profiles will affect the engine in different rev ranges. One that makes power down low will suffer on the top end and vice versa. Auto manufacturers for years, before he advent of adjustable camshafts, picked a compromise, usually one that idled smoothly, at the cost of top end performance, because that was what most people wanted.
The gas port size is one part of the formula for making a reliable and accurate barrel. it is chosen to provide the most reliable function for the widest variation of ammo. We sell a lot of barrels to a lot of different people, who use a wide range of ammo. We chose a size that works. The PSA 10.5" CHF barrel has proven to be very reliable in feeding all kinds of 5.56 and 223 ammo.
Now if the OP wants to tune for a specific cartridge and bullet weight, we ask that he please share the preferred gas port size with us. If there is enough demand, perhaps we can produce it.
