Has anyone tried the psa 1911 mags yet? And can psa post some more pics of them too. A shot looking down at the feed lips would be perfect.

I've spent the last few days reading this thread, preparing to start my 1911 builds. I have 2 SS Slides, 1 SS frame and 1 Carbon Steel frame. Do I need to coat any of this?

They just got a batch of complete 1911s on the store. I wonder if the stripped frames are the extras from the batches of complete guns.

Anyone looking for a carbon frame and slide in Columbia SC area hit me up...

I saw a stripped frame in the case at PSA magnolia a couple of weeks ago and I’m kicking myself for not buying it but I haven’t even built the first one I bought yet. I’m at least buying parts for it again.

Is the PSA 1911 project finished, as in never to return?
I never bought one, was hoping the prices would drop. |

Anybody else notice the $99 1911 frames are back? Time to dust off this thread.

Have enough parts on hand to build a half a dozen 1911s so your bump of this thread led me to buy two more frames..... 10mm will be next and then I have an Colt/Argentine slide that will see the light of day again as a companion to the Argentine 1909 rifle I built for my grandson. |

I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me and say "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.
|
Mine was about a four and a half year project (including a year long deployment but still). Finally finished it when I got tired of looking at the box of parts that needed fitting. I’m glad I did it, and I learned a lot about 1911s but never again!

I just picked up my frames from this batch. Both of them ended up with scratches and such on them. These should have been sold as a blem.
I was already thinking about cerakoting or nickel plating them. Now I guess I have an excuse. |

View Quote When I was on the phone with PSA, the rep commented that these are not a new run, but leftovers from the previous run, 1911 project. Don't quote me on that. I didn't record it or write it down. Just paraphrasing what I heard. |

Glamour shot.
All parts, including the frames are now back on the shelf. Hopefully I'll get to them in the next year or two. Attached File |

Nice to see the Stan Chen mod, was considering same.
Have one of the early ss/checkered frames from 2015 or 16...evidently a five year build. It and a GI hard slide are in a box... How have your builds held up? |
|
|
you should see it now. @d16man needs to update the thread with his latest images of the magwell with that stan chen it looks great.

Anyone build a 10mm using these frames? Which slide did you use? Any issues?

Any market for the frame/slide/barrel from PSA? I have had one for 3-4 years sitting on the shelf meaning to be built - but never got around to it. I am thinking of it being listed up in the EE soon...
