I stopped in at the Farrow road location on friday, Picked up the two PTAC PA10 lowers and while I was in there they had a big box of blems sitting there for 49.00, so what the heck picked up another blem. All 3 lowers look great saving up for the black friday rifle kits....

If I were to actually touch one of the blems and opposed to just putting it in my cart, no way I could resist. |

Finally "had time" to put my lower together. The bolt catch pin was a touch tight at first, but cycling it a bunch made it loosen right up. I almost had a moment of panic thinking they didn't drill a hole for my rear takedown pin detent until I realized it was with the safety detent under the grip... http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc345/unfmoose/Mobile%20Uploads/20141102_051508_zps1hybfhuz.jpg View Quote LOOKS GREAT! and i had that same issue with the bolt releasebur as you said it can be worked out. and the rear takedown detent is funny. i actually had my lower for a few weeks and played around with it so i knew where it was, but i could see where it would freak someone out lol. i must say it was a fairly smooth assemble on my end, and i actually lke the rear pin detent placement better than on my ar15 |

Mine won't fit, not even close. |

Mine won't fit, not even close. I just used the buffer tube that my build kit came with. It did have a few failure to go into battery rounds when I finally shot it last night. Either tight ammo our buffer spring isn't strong enough. Gonna test some other ammo soon to see if it keeps up. Could be my issue if it keeps doing it. |
My PA10 buffer tube is 3/4" longer than my BCM buffer tubes. Looks like the correct buffer and spring too. Did you put the spacer in?
Ordered one last week....
Might remove the "P-TAC" on the mill before If I ceracoat it make a nice rectangular depression for a engraving... but I might just leave it as is...who knows... |
NOTE: Just put my PA10 lower together and put a Rock River NM trigger in it. That trigger will not work in a PA or PTAC10 rifle. The hammer will not depress enough to allow the bolt to fully retract. I suspect that a little material removed from the rounded top edge of the hammer would solve the problem but the QMS trigger that came with my kit isn't too bad and the RR can go in another lower. The QMS is 6+# but, no creep and a crisp break. Adding JP springs will probably lower that to 4-5# and the other lower the RR is destined for has those springs in it already.

While 308 ARs are not quite standardized as 5.56, what brands of uppers and lower part kits this PTAC lower fit? How about PSA lower? I think PSA says their 308 is DPMS pattern, but I also heard there are issues to fit DPMS.
I have the same question. So far, the takedown and pivot pins from a DPMS parts kit are too long. In addition, the pivot pin has a flat milled into the rear side of the button head similar to an AR15. The takedown pin looks to be AR15 length, but 308 diameter.
