So does the geissele ssa-e work on the pa10 gen 2 without modifications now? Can't find a good answer...

Question:
Will a Magpul Gen 2 UBR stock reliably work with my PA10 Gen 2? Also looking at the Magpul ACS-L and want your perspective and any experience. I've read the receiver extension lengths, buffer system might be finicky. I haven't taken mine to run it through it's paces yet. Will mine need an adjustable gas block? I have on my PA10 Gen 2 the plain M4 adjustable stock now and want to upgrade. Thanks Bishop3 |

I'm assuming this means a Larue MBT work with a Gen 2 PA10 as well? Is there any requirement to use a particular spring or is it literally identical to installing a MBT in an AR15?

Has anyone used different AR10 uppers with the PA lowers? Got a stripped lower for Christmas along with a .308 BA barrel and was wondering if I can order something now or wait for PSA to restock on their stripped uppers. I'd kind of like something without a forward assist.

Are the gen2 uppers also DPMS low style like gen1? I've been trying to measure but it sure seems like they should be high style

Palmetto State Armory PA10 "Gen 2" - BOLT CATCH ISSUE STILL A PROBLEM AS OF DECEMBER 2017
I recently ordered PSA's PA10 completed upper and completed lower. My order was placed after some hesitance due to the numerous complaints of defects in 2015/16 but I assumed that PSA would have addressed the concerns in releasing its "Gen 2". Unfortunately, the defective bolt catch appears to remain a problem. The magazine follower holds the bolt back, but the bolt abruptly slams forward as soon as the empty magazine is dropped. If the bolt is locked back manually, it will abruptly slam forward if any part of the gun is firmly bumped or immediately upon a new magazine being inserted (and without one having ever pressed the bolt release). The bolt catch is clearly not functioning properly and this is a "first time, every time" problem. I did call and sit on hold for about half an hour. It was offered that I could send in the (brand new) gun for "repair" and that the turnaround time was expected to be fifteen (15) days after it reached their warehouse. I realize the gun is considered "inexpensive" by AR.308 standards and I'm no stranger to the "you get what you pay for" and "buy once, cry once" mantras. I regret my failure to heed the gun forum community's warnings. While I hope PSA makes it right, it would seem that it was seemingly okay with "allowing it to be wrong" in the first instance given the long history of complaints. Immediately sending it back for a fifteen (15) day turnaround was not an anticipated part of the original bargain from my perspective. Big bummer. This isn't what buying a new gun should feel like. |

OK so here is the deal.. I bought a PA-10 lower from Palmetto State armory in May from my FFL and found an upper that was a blem on the PSA website a couple weeks ago. finally got around to shooting it and the bolt catch will not lock the carrier group back in place. I notified PSA and they sent me an AR-15 bolt catch and springs. Did I miss something? Does the PA-10 use a standard AR-15 catch because they look nothing alike. So I have emailed them for the 4th time and still waiting to hear back.
I have replaced Magazines, tried to hold it back and catch it manually, but the catch will not go high enough to catch the bolt. Could the detent be to long, not allowing it to go up all the way and catch the bolt? Pretty sure this is my Last PSA purchase has been nothing but trouble. I even specified 3 or 4 times in my email it was a PA-10. If they know there is a problem I have no problem replacing the parts myself but get it right don't keep putting the wrong stuff together and just screw your customers. |

View Quote The next issue is some lowers did not have the bolt catch plunger pocket milled out deep enough (which prevents the bolt catch from levering enough to get the height required to catch the bolt face). Some have remedies this themselves by taking the bolt catch off, and grinding/sanding the inner lower leg, thus creating the leverage needed. Some have sent theirs to PSA for repair, and they do the same mod. Not all have the issue though (I guess I'm lucky, both my Gen1 and Gen2 work great). |

[#25]
Yes It is.
Found the bolt catch was not machined right. Removed the blemishes off the back side of the bolt catch and reinstalled an now it works fine. |

I recently got a PSA AR-10 and am really liking it. I've seen the 14.5" barrel on the PSA webpage and was wondering if anyone knew if there is an ETA for its release, and/or if it'll come in an assembled upper? Would really like a pinned 14.5" .308 upper to go with my 18".

Is PSA still making the PA10 line?
I have been watching the site a couple of times a week for months and other than a few parts, most of the completed assemblies such as Uppers and Lowers are always out of stock. I signed up for Email alerts for a few different items and I keep getting Email alerts on some of those assemblies. They always still show "TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK" when I go to the site right after receiving those Emails . There is nothing temporary about it. Just curious. I finally have a few extra dollars in my pocket and was hoping to spend it on another rifle before some problem comes along and reallocates the money. |

So I am not the "squeaky wheel" type. I was just curious what the deal was.
Sure enough, PSA had complete PA-10 lowers with an STR stock and a two stage trigger this weekend. I am not opposed to building kits, however I pulled the trigger on that deal, so I have one on the way. I was not squeaking, but maybe I got heard. Works for me. Charma... maybe . And then that nearly thousand dollar problem hit out of the blue. Sort of like a .308 round. Charma... yep it's a bitch. When the finances recover I will be looking for the deal on upper parts. |

[#33]
Does anyone know what other uppers the PA10 Gen 2 lowers are compatible with? Some people online say they have had success using just regular DPMS style upper.

I sent him a PM, will see what he says. I figured I would run into some sort of problem this time around. The REALLY need to put a PA10 information page on their site, to help us negotiate through their products and make sure we order the correct components in a situation like this. You see PA10 buffer, and assume that goes with the PA10 buffer tube right?

Yes the deals are good, when the equipment is available.
You may have noticed that I replied to my own message some days later when I caught one of those deals myself on a Gen 2 lower. It appears that it may arrive here locally tomorrow. Watching the PSA site lately it looks like they are starting to get a little more production going on the PA-10 line. It was pretty thin there for a few months. |
