Still waiting on this. Any chance it'll be listed in stock again today? Tomorrow is the Rainier tent sale and I'll be picking up parts to build my own if this isn't back! View Quote Just adding some info, the complete lower receiver was OOS earlier, and is now back, but the upper has remained OOS for several days. |

The upper is IN stock, not sure what your looking at?

Wow, checked 3-4 times today, just now seeing this is back in stock. Fo time! Never ordered a "firearm" before online, here's to hoping I can find a reliable FFL in North Dallas. |
|
Well it wasn't in stock earlier.
But thank you for the heads up. It has now been ordered. |
|
Got mine ordered, decided to go ahead with a 16 in her now instead of waiting on an 18.
|
|
Now has anyone actually received one yet?
If so, opinion on finish? Pictures perhaps? Any issues? |

Finish looks fine to me. I'm pretty hard on my stuff so I don't care too much about that but I don't see anything that would bother someone. Here's a closer look at the BCG's. That's just the angle that makes it look like that. They are identical in size. |

Probably the same as an AR15. Just trying to lighten the rifle up some. Some may argue that as a lighter weight barrel heats up the accuracy can degrade. Usually that's only the case when it is not free floated and you have shit hanging off the rifle.
If you're doing a long range precision build, standard/heavy barrel is the way to go. If you're building more of a battle rifle with intermediate distance in mind, slim should be perfectly fine. |
|
This is the same as the freedom stainless AR15 uppers I believe.
On my freedom I had to dimply the barrel myself. Can you check to see if these are dimpled already? |

Got a notification email at 6pm, already out of stock at 7:40 when I checked the email:(

I just caught one of the slim uppers. I am wanting to make it as light as possible, but it will mostly be used at the range for 300yd shooting. Maybe very
Occasional hog hunting. Is the light weight barrel ok for this? Steel targets at the range? I just don't want to put undue wear on the barrel if it can't handle it. I'd mostly use cheap fmj ammo. |

I wish I would have waited for the slim. The regular SS is very front heavy

Seems like the offerings keep changing though. One time it's 18 inch melonite, then it's gone, then it's slim, then there is a $629 offering for a melonite 16 inch. I can't keep track.

What Ive seen for the last hour or so. -
18'' slim SS - $649 16'' melonite - $630 16'' slim SS - $600 |

I don't know why I'm worried, it'll be in the safe most of the time. Also the melonite would be heavier than the slim stainless right? I wish they would list the weight of each one on the website. |

Melonite will last longer than stainless steel (round count wise) and should be damn near as accurate. Honestly with weight, idk. Depends on the profile of each. Generally SS is heavier than the 4150 steel used in barrels, but the slim may even them out. |

On the page for the $629 16" melonite they list it is rifle length and midlength gas. Curious which it is.

Someone please PM me or get in contact with me ASAP when the 18inch is ready. I didn't FO on the 16in like I was going to... I will 100% order one when the 18 is back.
ETA how do I enable email msgs for in stock products? |

I'm installing a Geissele SSA-E right now! Well Dang! Thanks for the update - - - I was thinking about ordering a SSA-E for my PA-10. |

So that means there's been 4 variations released.
18'' slim SS - $649 16'' melonite - $630 16'' slim SS - $600 16" SS Med or heavy contour? - $600 Has anyone who has received any of the original uppers been able to identify the contour? I'm curious myself as I have one of these on order. No shipping info yet though. ETA: I'm going to be putting my upper on an Aero lower. Hopefully this will resolve the trigger issue people are having with Geissele triggers. |

PSA, I would like to know if the Geisselle SSA-E trigger will work in my .308 AR which is on the way?

Received my PA-10 Wed 09/17.
Based on my experience, the PA-10 is not designed to fit and function with the DPMS LR-308 lower assy. The front pivot lug is too long, hard chafing the lower when pivot the upper open and close. The rear take down lug, both sides, chafes the sides of the lower when closed. The BCG can not be cycled when the rear take down pin pushed in. with the pin pulled out there is still rubbing on something. Not really concerned If it isn't meant to function with a DPMS lower, cause intend to get the PA-10 lower, Has anyone else mounted the PA-10 to a DPMS lower, if so what is your experience? IM'd PSA yesterday, have not got reply yet. |

If it's not going to work then I might as well just turn around and sell the upper when it arrives, or try to cancel the order if they let me without a fee. ETA: I've IM'd PSA as well. I really don't even know what to do at this point. I was happy to finally have a 308 ar, but if it just won't work then screw the project. I could order another suppressor. |
|
Well... If you can't cancel, shoot me a PM... I MAY take it off your hands
|

We tested the PA10 uppers with a variety of dpms pattern lowers, including DPMS, and did not encounter any issues with fitment or performance. Obviously physical differences in the design - such as the placement of the forward assist - are the reasonable exceptions (if the BCG does not have forward assist serrations, it can't work with our forward assist).
When fitting lowers and uppers from different suppliers, all AR platform rifles are subject to issues from tolerances - its a function of the design. Edit by PSA: DPMS had a couple of different versions of the gen 1 308 pattern. This upper works with the later DPMS low pattern uppers. |
