Well I saw that Wilson Combat had their semi auto BCG on sale for $98.57 plus $9.95 shipping. Decided to order one of these instead for this build. Keep the budget theme going. Should still work just fine. It was the last major component I needed to made the gun actually go boom. Should have everything by next Friday.

Once I get mine I'm going to coat the SS somehow. I'm thinking of the budget route, light sanding and some VHT ceramic header paint.
Thanks for the pics, mine hasn't shipped yet, wish I had the same supersonic luck you did! |
|
How well does it balance? Front heavy or no more than typical?
|
|
Balance is good. Doesn't feel any more muzzle heavy than other 16" guns I've held. I plan on keeping my barrel stainless. Already got my Magpul MOE stock on it. My rifle MOE hand guard should be here today I'm hoping. YHM Phantom comp/flash hider should be here Tuesday. BCG should be here Thursday.

Thank you for the comments.
The front gas block uses set screws. |
|
I wish I could mail PSA an A2 upper and get it back with that barrel on it and let them keep the A3 upper

I just did a quick function test of the complete gun using the BCG out of my Armalite M15A4. Ran 10 rounds of XM193 from a PSA 10 round steel magazine I ordered from them. No problems. I also ran 20 rounds from a Magpul G3 20 round magazine rapid fire. Again no problem. Gun fired, and ejected all rounds just fire. Can't wait to get the money for an optic (Crossfire II 1-4x24) and do some accuracy testing.

I'll be ordering a rear sight for it this week sometime.
Love the walking dead BTW. |

I just ordered one of those uppers. OP, how is that accuracy? I hear SS is a bit better than chrome lined. You done any shooting at a distance to see how it groups?

That thing is Bad Ass!
Love the MOE anyway as I used them on all my builds so far but love the MOE Dissipator look. Very Well Done |

Just an update on the rifle. I decided to use my Del-Ton built lower that I built instead for the lower. Has a little better fit than the Anderson one. I also added a Daniel Defense rear sight, and YHM phantom flash hider. Went with a Wilson Combat semi auto BCG I got on sale for only $108 shipped. I was about to zero the rifle today at 25 yards and keep the 3 shot groups within 1.5". It also runs steel cased ammo perfectly. Here is a picture of how the rifle turned out, and how I plan on keeping it. Simple is better. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j341/ahanson0825/Guns%20and%20Knives/20140913_143207_zpsbuskutc2.jpg View Quote very nice, and that hogue is a lot more comfortable than the MOE grip in my opinion. clean build, I LIKE IT! and those barrels are damn good i have it in a standard midlength with a free float added and it is VERY nice and accurate too (only iron sights so far) im going to put a scope on it and see how she does and longer distances |

Ghetto is using an A2 stock(or variation), and a BCMGUNFIGHTER stock. As for grips I see several BCMGUNFIGHTER™ Grip Mod 0's, and Magpul MOE's. The Hogue on page one is a terrible grip when blood is involved, it gets slippery as goose shit. |

BCM Mod 2 grip and Troy folding rear sight showed up.
Now I just need to decide between an EXPS or PRO. |

Mine came in today. Ordered on 10/30, so I'm happy with the shipping time.

Anyone try to stick a KAC M5 rail on one of these uppers yet? I was looking at getting the DD 12' Omega rail, but on their site it says its not meant to be used with any other gas system other than rifle length. I'm wondering if the KAC one will be in the same boat.

Well I was going to start a new thread about my new PSA purchase and I found this one!
I ordered the PSA dissy upper that yall have on 11/8 late in the night, got the ups tracking # the next day and received it on 11/17. I am glad the shipping times have been improved upon. Not that it stopped me from ordering. I knew what I was getting into. That one was on sale for $249, added the bcg and charging handle for $99, I felt I could not wait any longer for the price to be better. Nice looking upper it is! now to get to machining the 80% lower I have for it! Thanks PSA! |
