What are the differences between the 16" M4 (Madness) and the 16" M4A1 uppers? It looks like the barrel is thicker under the handguards on the M4A1. Is that the only difference? How much do the two differ in weight?

In addition to a possible weight difference, I'm curious what would make someone pick the M4A1 barrel over the M4 barrel.

Heat handling characteristics of the different profiles, personal preferences to handling and balance...luckily there are enough variations of the AR15 to make just about everybody happy.
Difference in weight between the M4A1 and the M4 is @ 4.8 ounces |
