I have an LR308 that I bought a few years ago now and while it shoots fairly well, it is just too heavy and long with it's 24" SS Bull barrel. I feel that I can achieve accuracy just as well with something in the 18-20" and lighter profile barrel. The other issue is the lack of shell deflector so I would like to get an upper receiver with the brass deflector built in.
What do I need to un-barrel the upper so I can send the barrel to ADCO for a contour, cut, and thread job? |

you will need a allen wrench to remove the gas block and you will need a strap wrench or a free float removing tool. the strap wrench will remove the alum tube from the barrel nut. and in some case the barrel nut also. then if needed the freefloat tool which has a few pins in it (similar to a armor wrench but larger) to remove the barrel nut.
