Any chance that your piston system might work with the new 300BLK round?

With the pistol length gas system, you often have barrels with thicker diameters than Adams' standard .750". I'm not sure what AAC's barrel diameter is going to be at the gas block, but if it is .750", the standard pistol kit should work fine!
My 300/221 is .875", otherwise I would have one on it as it is essentially the same thing as the 300 Blackout. I am really looking forward to having the 300 BLK standardize the 300/221 market! |

I too have this question. I have a spare carbine AA kit and am thinking of running it on a 10.5 barrel.

I spoke with Jim Granger before SHOT Show and I know for a fact they have a .308 upper. I was unable to get any pics but I am sure you will see something soon

No, I had a cabine kit and when I decided to do this I ordered a pistol piston and extended rail from AA. Yes, lessons learned from working up a Whisper. Ronald M Williams, of this board. 1-8 stainless, your way, $235 shipped. Hell no, you said you just messed your keyboard! |

Did u just throw the thing in a drill press and make the gas port bigger? I think that would be the way to go. I would like an 8 inch version but it looks like the only inexpensive way to do that right now would be to purchase a 16in, saw it off at about 8.5, throw it in the mini lathe, and make put threads on the end.

I'm thinking noveske 8" or 10" 300blk barrel with the pistol length gas piston system.
Will that work with my 762SD and the subsonic rounds? |

But we digress from the point of this post ... so does anyone know if the AA piston will work with the 300 black without any modification? |

AA hasn't said jack about it. I got tired of waiting for word and ordered a PWS. |

Yea I just spoke to them as well. The current piston will NOT work with the 300blk. BUT they are developing a piston system to work with it and are hoping it will be ready before the end of the year but no promises and no word on price either. So sadly my 300blk build is on hold until either Adams Arms or Osprey Defense comes out with a working model.

This guy has one. Or are you saying it wont cycle the sub rounds supressed? Im confused. I was planning on doing a blackout build myself. 26" barrel, Carbine length piston and gas system. I have no interest in shooting supressed or sub-sonic. Removing those two limitations i dont see why it wouldnt work. |

I also await the Adams Arms piston upper chambered in .300 AAC Blackout
on the .300 blackout web page LINK most data is from 9 inch barrels, that is fine for SBR applications and AR Pistols some want 16 inch and longer barrels & data to go with them I intend to build a AR pistol, a AA upper w/ a 9 inch barrel w/ twist to handle all weights of bullets from 110 gr to 240 gr would be ideal with their piston system I will probably load generic 147 gr FMJ for just basic fooling around & range testing but 110 gr BTHP's for groundhogs do trip my trigger as do 220 gr for bigger close range game (I do so want to get my ass to Texas for at least a week of Feral Hog hunting, those guys know how to have fun) |

Looks like it runs fine, if you open up the gas port, remove the buffer weights and run a reduced power spring.. Nothing like having to tinker and tweak on it to get it running. Me, I just want one that runs subsonic suppressed, 9-11" barrel length, that I don't have to do anything special to get running. |
