Hi Jim, Jason, & Arfcom,
I thought you guys would appreciate how sweet this turned out. This is my second modified Troy 7" MRF-C with my second Adams systems!! Included are pics of the new Spikes M4 w/ AA conversion and most notably a Troy 7" MRF-C. For those interested the Troy MRF-DI works fabulous with the Adams unit as well and with no modification. The 7" MRF-C will take a few minutes of handy work with the file but the results speak for themselves, not to mention the money I saved on this rail vs. the others out there. If you look closely in the last pic you can actually see the sweet markings on the barrel. "Adams Arms Comp Elite" that shit is so F'ing awesome, and it's inscribed in gold! Doesn't get any better! I hope you guys enjoy the pics. In short, the Troy MRF-C ($200) is the best bang for the buck when outfitting the superior Adams Arms weapon system.

Hi crwdplsr,
As I stated in my original post, "The 7" MRF-C will take a few minutes of handy work with the file". Hence, get out a metal file and start filing back those square lugs. Use an extremely course file to get the bulk of aluminum removed, then change to a finer tooth file to smooth out the patches where the screw lugs were originally. You will have to remove all material from where those square lugs are all the way to the back. The last lug will only need a little bit of material removed. Obviously take your time and make sure to try installing the piston from the front of the gas block with the upper rail sitting in place BEFORE tightening down the mounting screws. That way you don't get the whole thing installed and then realize you need to remove a tiny bit more material and then have to take out all the screws. Hope that helps, have a good one.

Thanks, checked out the troy rail today, I believe i see what you are talking about. The "lugs" are the 5 indents on top of rail, 4 are "tapped" for screws, and the forward one is just a rib. So... what you are saying is: Remove these so they are flush and i'm GTG.

I'm not going to take apart my setup and have to reloctite the shit again (which I don't have) but! I found another arfcommer has pics of the rail. So look at the top rail in the last picture. See those square extrusions, starting from the right side they need to be filed down flat including the very right sliver of metal. 15 minutes with a hand file and your golden. E Z breezy beautiful, battle rail!

OK:

So you're saying to file/grind down the areas shown below circled in RED to the level of the rail pointed to by the BLUE arrow?

Exactly!! The very farthest LEFT one only needs a few cm of it filed back. You got it.

I know this is a little old BUT if anyone is in the market, you can still use the 10% coupon (code is CYB and good through today) at Brownells and get this rail for $200 + shipping. I just added one to an order I placed Friday and can't wait to put this project together. :)

Thanks for the pictures and clear description of what needs to be done.

Here you go fellas. I had to remove the rail to do some work on the arf so I took the opportunity to get a photograph of the rail. If you look to the very right you will see the blackened carbon from the adams system venting. This rail and adams combo works extremely well.
