First off I love my 6920. I have over 7000 trouble free rounds and it will eat all ammo types. I really want to get a 14.5" barrel with a pinned flash hider/brake. I know they make the 6921 but it's Class 3.
As a second option, how hard is it to replace the barrel ? I see 14.5 SOCOM barrels for sale on occasion and I'd basically like to pull the barrel and replace everything on top of it. I suppose I could sell the 16" barrel for a little money. If I go this route what tools will I need

Replacing a AR barrel is very easy, but you need the right tools. If you plan to only change out one barrel, it is not a smart way to spend money. However, if you plan on making quite a few uppers, then it is worth the money. IMHO buy a Colt 14.5" SOCOM barrel (my favorite), and send the complete upper to ADCO for them to change out the barrel, head space it, and pin the extended flash hider. Make sure they send you out the old barrel so you can keep it sell it. The only reason to head space is because you have 7,000 rounds through that original 6920 barrel
