Just got off the phone with GT and the girl I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about when I asked if I could back order or be put on a notification list for one. She took my info but I'm not feeling to confident that I'll be notified View Quote Ask for Dave Napier... I called the other day to check on my backorder and the girl I spoke to couldn't find it...Talked to Dave and he located the order right away in their system. |

Well.....it looks like GT did not get any of the 200 units Colt made in this last production run. I have spoken with GT and Colt on a few occassions and pretty much have come to conclude that of the 200 rufles made, they all went elsewhere. GT does not have any confirmation from Colt on any shipments....and Colt won't confirm they shipped any rifles to GT.
Next production run is January....looks like they will be producing more than 200 rifles. The overwhelming demand is for the 6920 now and Colt is producing these to meet demand. Maybe we are surprised and GT does receive some A4's....not holding breath, but am still going to remain on wait list. |

Colt indicated all of the 200 A4's had shipped. However, I did two different answeres when I called. The other person said production had been completed and the orders that were being shipped, confirmed. GT said they never received a confirmation....

That's not a bad group for iron sights at 100 yards.
If it were mine I would just keep the standard plastic hanguards. The KAC or P&S rails are more for the clone guys and just add extra weight. Did it come with an "F" marked FSB and an ambi selector? |

Numrich (aka Gun Parts Corp) has new P&S M5 rail systems available. They're sold out of the complete set but you can still put one together as individual parts for a pretty good price.
http://www.gunpartscorp.com/ad/1480460.htm I picked up a complete set when they were still available for my PSA 20" CHF upper. |

I have decided to wait....but that does not mean I can't buy some other goodies for my new rifle. Has anyone had luck with Triggertech triggers?
Just bought one at a very good price and am looking forward to giving it a shot in my soon to be (january) delivered rifle....lol they are offering a 20% discount on their site and I took advantage of it. Next....some decent glass, in the Vortex optics variety.... |

Patience is a virtue.....I received a call from GT last night....Surprise, surprise.
My rifle came in and they honored the price of $899.00 plus 24 shipping. Can't wait to install that new Triggertech trigger, which is on its way. Still looking for some glass....probably go with a Vortex optics FFp scope in the 2x10 magnification range....don't need more than that for this rifle. |

Mine showed up with 1:9 hbar View Quote It seems a bunch of these got out of the factory with the wrong roll mark on the barrel. If anyone is interested in a rifle with the wrong roll mark Hinterland still has some in stock with the wrong markings. I only know because the guy went and checked when I called him about it. I did talk to someone at Colt and they will rebarrel with a correctly marked barrel. Not sure what I want to do. I'm leaning towards just keeping the mismarked barrel. Just a heads up the colt rep did mention they are running at a 60 to 90 day turnaround time right now |

So, buy the rifle with the 1:7 barrel. If shooting at longer ranges or you just want to stabilize a heavier bullet, the 1:7 barrel will do the job. View Quote |

yup...I bought it. I'll try and get some photos soon. In any case, great rifle and I didn't realize how much I enjoyed shooting 20" rifles, sold my HBAR almost a decade ago and have been waiting for the past two years for this purchase to happen. Spent almost 4 hours at the range yesterday with a few different rifles and handguns and sighted this in at 100 yards using irons..This was the last rifle I shot, and by that time the wind was starting to pick up somewhat, but still not a bad grouping considering it was bulk pack AE M855 and that my shooting skills with irons aren't that great. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/15192664_10206971362196927_5171985911967479701_n.jpg?oh=53bd5ddc11436cc3d7ed9446807b4646&oe=58D0CA32 I'll probably be putting in a Giessele high speed NM trigger (probably the DMR version), and may at some point put a KAC or P&S rail system on it (leaning towards P&S as its less expensive), though I do like the look of the plastic hand guards. One thing that caught me off guard is the "sproooong" of the buffer tube. I don't quite remember it being that prominent with my HBAR View Quote I built a frankenA4 last spring with a Windham Weaponry barrel. Chrome lined, 1:7 twist. The trigger in this gun is a High Speed DMR set very low. It's beautiful. So much nicer than any SSA or SSA-E I've had. I've had this trigger from way back when it was all they made. The gun has a Vortex Spitfire 3X and I can ring the 485 yard gong, a goat, with boring easy. The 8" round gong at 535 yds is more of a challenge. I can hit it about 25%-30% of the time. All this using Fed. American Eagle green tip. I highly recommend a High Speed DMR trigger in any A4. I wouldn't set mine up any differently if I had to do it again. |
