God bless you - I came here specifically looking for info re: 6720 deals. Couldn't find what I was looking for anywhere else and decided to come to Industry.
I just ordered 2,000 PRVI 855 from PSA on Valentine's Day. Also, just to confirm, trigger and hammer pins on these new Colts are now .154, correct? I haven't bought a new Colt in a few years. Thanks, DR |
|
Since mid 2009, Colt fully switched over to standard .154 FCG pins.

Just picked mine up from the FFL yesterday. I love it. My first colt.

Ordered one Saturday and just checked my account - indicates shipped already! I was expecting a bit of a wait.
ETA: No email shipping notice so maybe that's what it does for everybody. |

I'd take off the Magpul furniture and sell it, and put the standard Furniture on, but this isn't a bad deal for a Colt 20" A4. $899 with cash discount from Buds.

FREE SHIPPING on the 6720s at PSA until the 18th.
Grrr, missed it by two days. |

I have an A2, but I don't have an A4. With some reasonably priced USGI furniture this could be a really nice A4. The AR15A4s with standard furniture are going for $1200 plus when you can find them. |

Here's another Colt deal that only needs a furniture change (Magpul edition with "Wildfire").
$856 for a new Colt LE6920 if you pay them with a money order (Bud's cash discount). http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/36_140/products_id/99436/COLT+LE6920-MPWF+5.56+16+WILDFIRE Looks like this I believe: |

Well, I bit this morning too. $799.99 shipped? Yes, please.
This is the first time I've ever bought anything from PSA. I guess we'll see how this goes. |

Shipping was only $12 so I really can't complain too loudly. Does PSA usually provide tracking info? My account has shown item shipped since Monday but no tracking either in the account or via email. |

I just used it as the final piece for rationalizing the purchase. I have no idea about the tracking. I'm in no big hurry. Hopefully it gets here in a couple weeks instead of a couple months. [ fingers crossed ] |

If you can get one at these prices, do it. One of the best purchases you will ever make.

Picked mine up yesterday from my dealer.
Ordered Saturday late and arrived yesterday - very good turnaround time for Palmetto. They also extended the free shipping *while supplies last* for those of you who may be on the fence like previous posters. |
|
Still waiting for the one I ordered from PSA on March 9th...
Update: Just checked with my FFL and it has arrived! |
|

They must've had a shitload of these rifles.
I can't believe they are still in stock and especially for this long ! |

I placed the order online for my 6720 the morning of Wednesday, 3/18. I went down to my local shop early in the afternoon on Friday, 3/20, to give him the heads up / beg forgiveness for ordering without asking him first (I knew that he didn't have a 6720 for sale, so it wasn't a total dick move on my part). He whipped out the box. PSA got me my 6720 in two days (from South Carolina to Ohio). I never received any tracking info, but I can't really complain! Just a couple quick notes for anyone who might be interested: The pistol grip was super-dry and chalky white. A little CLP rubbed into it took care of that, along with the blotchy discoloration on parts of the anodized aluminum (not terribly unusual - I had a brand new Mossberg 500 with a matte anodized receiver that had the same discoloration and oil took care of that too). The lower receiver sports the "AR-15A4 Lightweight LE Carbine" markings (no "Restricted" markings on the other side) with a serial number of "CAR0080##". I'll have to get out the magnifying glass to double check, but it looks like the barrel date is 01/13. The "birth bag" has a date stamp of "DEC 13". The butt stock is marked on the right side with a part number and a CAGE code of "4U486". This is the CAGE code for P&S Products (which does business as "Molding Solutions" and took over the contract for the KAC RAS: http://4u486.com/ ). |
|
That's a great surprise to get - I had to call for tracking info and found out it was due for delivery the next day.
Your other information is appreciated. They should just start making N-1s again though . I'd like a carry handle and a sling too. |
|
+1 on the N1s. What's funny is that you almost couldn't give them away until they were discontinued. Now they're getting stupid high prices for nice ones.
The carry handle would be an OK thing to have too, but I know that I would almost never ever bother to put it on. That was something that I forgot to post -- it comes with one M3 20 round PMAG (as expected), but it didn't come with a sling (not that the cheapass sling is a great loss, but still ). |

I just can't myself to want one. The fixed front sight just really screams 90's to me.

That fixed front sight is extremely durable, it's one less part I have to worry about coming loose, and I shun picatinney gas blocks. However I am decidedly old school. I won't own an AR15 without a forward assist or dustcover either. My first issue was an M16A1, and I still think it was the handiest of all the M16s. |

View Quote Well, considering that I was a child of the 80s and went into the Marines in '93, I'm pretty darn comfortable with it. That said, I did have a 6940 for a little while (with the foldable front sight) and it didn't really alarm me (I'm not a total Neanderthal). I won't touch a rifle with a clamped or set-screwed gas block for anything other than fun and games. It at least has to be pinned. If you're properly using a red dot, a fixed front sight isn't an issue. The same for magnified optics once you get up past about 3x. |

Picked mine up today. Not sure why the hell I haven't had one of these before. The reduced weight is a welcomed change. Can't wait to run some mags through it.
|
|
Yeah, the barrel is the only difference between the 6720 and the 6920 that I used to have and there's only 6 or 8 ounces of difference in barrel weight (I can't remember which), but it's funny how much "lighter" the 6720 seems to me.
ETA: Looks like PSA is down to 9. |
|
I picked up a 6920 box and a 6720 box the other night and thought there was some extra shit in the 6920 box - just guns and magazines - and I was surprised as well.
You wouldn't believe it unless you've done so. |
|
This is one thing I hate about this website: it makes me want more guns. I waited too long and lost out on this great deal, dammit.
Oh well, I can use the money elsewhere. And they might run the deal again, they ran it in December, 2014. But the 6720 looks sweet. I love KISS ARs, lighter weight is your friend. |
