You are officially welcome to the Colt club and congrats, you won't get disappointed.
I'm a very long time Colt AR owner for over four decades and I'm still addicted to AR, specifically Colt.
I've worn out six AR (four rifles and two carbines) without any problems, I just maintained them normally, plenty of lube and just replaced worn parts.
I used to have two 6920 carbines but I gave the newest made in 2012 to my oldest son when he turned 18 early last month, now I still have six AR, four Colt (made in 2011 6920, two 6721 HBAR carbines, one 20" rifle with USGI M16A2 Colt upper half on Colt HBAR lower half), a LMT 16" M4 carbine and a RRA 16" 9mm flattop carbine.
We went shooting last Sunday, me, my two boys and two of their friends, my oldest son shot his 6920 carbine, me and my youngest son used my 20" Colt rifle, a Steyr AUG A1 16" carbine and a Chinese PolyTech AK-47 type with wood stock and folding spike bayonet.
I only have two old made in the 1980s Sig, a P220 imported by Browning .45 ACP and a P226 9mm, they're my favorite defensive pistols because they fit my hands great.
So get a bunch of ammo and take it out and enjoy your new carbine.
Don't forget to remove and clean all the factory preservative lube, then lube it, lube the bolt and the horizontal rails of the bolt carrier very wet.
