My rifle, and a hint of whats to come.
LMT is a company with lousy QC. Buy from a company that cares about its products, like Bravo Company or LaRue.

Will do. I've got a few cerakoted guns, both air and oven cured, and it holds up amazingly well. IMHO, NIC makes a much better product than duracoat or gunkote.

Does anyone know if these are Type II or Type III anodizing?

These look a bit shiny in the pictures - are they in real-life or is it just the flash?

I assumed they were Type II but I am not for certain. I finally got to the range today and ran 200 rounds of M855 through it and it ran like every other 6920 I have owned....flawless! I almost forgot how much I like the 4x ACOG.

Looks like some of the 6940's are getting the FDE treatment.

I know someone posted a better pic in another thread somewhere, but I don't think it was ever fully decided if it was anodized or one of the ceracoated ones.

did it say it was one of the duracoated Kneske models or a new anodized finish Buddy?

Just dawned on me, the early duracoated models would have had the LAW ENFORCEMENT CARBINE roll mark, not the M4 roll mark. Unless Kneske has done another run of them...... interdasting...

Hey Shawn - literature read...Receivers are anodized a rich bronze color.

I may have to snag one as well, I thought I read that it is a limited 500 unit production run, just like the initial batch of 6920s. As you already know, I am aching for an FDE 901.

Cheers

Yeah, if I pick up an FDE 6940 then I will be tempted to roll a Form 1 and chop the barrel 6945 style. I've been cruising grabagun.com to see if they received any of them but no joy so far.

Cheers

I just purchased this Rifle on Thursday. My first Colt. I might just put in safe and not let it see light of day, but its so darn cool. Is it true or BS that they only made 1500 of the FDE and the Green?

its true, they made 1500 that first run

and another 1500 or more probably the 2nd run.

and likely another 1500 in the next several runs

I hardly think I would seal it in vault never to see light. I dont know why some people buy rifles they never intend to shoot.

if something sells. colt is going to make more of them plain and simple. if it was a one off odd ball version made for some tiny PD in georgia. well, you might have something

if it was a "small run" meant for general sell. you are going to see more of them from now on

Yeah I'd say we'll see plenty more FDE rifles, and hopefully some of the camo patterns as well. The OD green rifles seem a little less popular and may stay limited, but who knows.
