I know the KX3 will find under the SAR or
SAR2.

So what's different about the SAR2?

The mounting system and a couple other slight changes.

Interesting...I may one day replace my BAR with a SAR. By then you might be on the SAR4 anyway though. Thanks for the info.

That's no lie. I improve or change our product line faster than the company can keep up with!

LRS will NOT fit inside the SAR.

Is the 9" SAR 2 going to be available with only the front section railed like the 8" in the pic? If so I'm in, was going to order a 9" SAR for my middy project but would be willing to wait for a half railed SAR 2.

That looks amazing. Naturally, I just bought a 13.2" SAR.

I'm okay with that since it doesn't look like you'll have a SAR2 that long for while anyways. Curious though, as this may be well suited for my next build. I'm looking to do a biohazard set, with a 10"-12" barrel in 300BLK. What size SAR2's are coming down the pipe? Ideally, I would like to have the AAC 762-SDN-6 snugged up against the rail. Will you have anything coming in that fits that idea?

The reflex mounting depth is 2.5", so on a 16" barrel that means it goes back to 13.5". I can't remember if the 13.2" SAR length is overall 13.2" or if it is 13.2" plus receiver extension (approx .7"). If the overall length on the 13.2" is actually 13.2", then it may sit just in front of the end of the rail. Let me check my 18" SPR upper when I get home and I can tell you for sure if it'll work.

Shoot me an email to remind me to check if you definitely want this answer (or I'll forget).

only if it had the tapered side rails in front, like the original sar...would look 300%better. or better yet, mirror the new back grooved-out tapered side rail in the front..maybe don't have to be as long and can shorten the tapered length, if that was a concern? but, shouldn't have just chopped it off completely! looks....chopped off up front! it lost the sar and bar looks, and now look like any other rail.
eta: have you guys considered this, but just left out that detail for some reason? i think that's why the overall looks of the sar2 is turning some people away.. maybe it's not too late to change this minor detail??

Ha to tell you sir bit I like that more of the forwad part of the rail is now us full instead of being tapered!

Do we have a weight of the new sar 2s?

My apologies,

On the v1 Bar and Sar the forward part of the rail, although pretty and tapered, was useless and greatly cut down on useful rail space for forward mounting items such as weapon lights.

I much prefer the new rail which is more useful till the end of each rail.

On another note, do we have the new weights of each of the new SAR 2's?

Yes, the side rails lose less space up front. The bottom rail is about the same, and the top goes all the way again. The weight difference will actually be marginal, as the mounting system is a little heavier, and the rail body is a little lighter. Don't have the exact weights yet as full production samples haven't made it in yet.

It was your question. And after measuring my 18" SPR upper, it appears that the mounting collar will back up directly to the front of the 13.2" SAR, and there is a 1/4" of collar that the suppressor doesn't overlap. This means your suppressor will be as far back as safely possible without touching.

Get one of the Lothar Walther barrels for it if you plan to make it a marksman/mini-sass type weapon. Remember that whichever barrel you go with, a step will be needed on the barrel for mounting the alignment collar.

Any idea if the SAR2 is going to be compatible with the Adams Arms piston kit?

According to Tom because I ask the same question, the SAR2 will not be compatible. The SAR1 with the alignment shim kit will. I am still working on the upper.
