So I just got the DynaComp shorty and when I tightened it up, the solid side that should be oriented on the bottom is about 220 degrees from the bottom. I can probably get another 40 or so out of it but I don't see myself getting that full amount to correctly index it. Any ideas? Can I use a shim system like AAC includes? or maybe heat the washer up?

Stainless shims are good to go. ST has them on their site.

Is there any difference in performance between the Extreme and the Shorty extreme? (16 in barrel)

Got my dynacomp extreme with threads for ops suppressors in from AIM today.. paid just under 70.00 for it.. i love the look of it.
My question is, it looks like this thing has uniform holes all the way around.. is there a bottom of this thing for indexing for timing? This is going on a 16" barrel. It came with a set of several washers but I dont see how that is going to keep it locked in. Do I need a crush washer instead or will those shims keep it in place. Thanks |

The OPS model is a suppressor ready device.
1. Porting is symmetrical around the device to balance blast within a suppressor. 2. The device comes with a stainless shim kit, not a crush washer. 3. Crush washer would fail under a reflex suppressor, so it is advised to mount with shims only. |

It is 2". When permanently attached to a 14.5", it will achieve the ATF required OAL of 16" to avoid NFA.

Anything special need to be done to keep the holes clean or from clogging up with junk? Or, should they stay clean without much nastiness coming out from the end of the barrel? Night and day difference from my flash hider!

After about 10-15,000 rounds, I put a drill bit through every hole.
All muzzle devices will require cleaning at some point but most users will never see a round count high enough to require ONE cleaning with the Dynacomp. |

Question for the Dynacomp shorty:
Which way should the crush washer be oriented? EDIT: Found the answer here: http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=570530 |

Another Dynacomp shorty question:
Is the 5.56 shorty long enough with a 14.7 inch PSA barrel to make it 16 inch when attached? I've read that it won't on a 14.5, but don't see anything on a 14.7. Thanks |

I ordered my AK 24mm dynacomp over a month ago not knowing they weren't in stock. Are they back in stock and can I expect my comp soon?

I'm going to be getting me a dynacomp but I'm thinking down the road I might want to suppress it. Is there a performance difference between the dynacomp extreme and the dynacomp extreme threaded when its not surpressed? Who knows if ill ever get a surpressor but if I do I don't really want to have to buy another brake.

There isn't a big difference between the two comps but with the threaded Dynacomp your limited to the OPS suppressor. And you need a collar on your barrel. |

I no longer see the Dyna-Comp externally threaded for Ops Inc suppressors on your webpage. Are these still offered?

I have to say that I am very impressed with my dynacomp. Looks good and performs well. Just finished three days of shooting with my agency. One caution to people out there. I ran prob 200 rounds of frangible and it was very shitty ammo. As a result the dynacomp suffered. The front, or crown(?) was eaten through. The folks at Spikes were awesome and helped me out. I just want to caution people that may have to use frangible at their agency, or a training facility. You may want to throw on an old bird cage to avoid any damage.
I want to make absolutely clear, the Dynacomp is very well made, and the damage was not from any manufacturing defect. Spikes CS was great and they are to be commended. I ran 500+ rounds of lake city for two days. Cleaning at the end of each day and inspecting the rifle during down time(new rifle). I did not see any damage until the frang was used at the end of the second day. I think the ammo we were running was very old and very corrosive. |
