I like the set screw idea.
FYI, as an all inclusive review, you forgot the magazine catch/release installation. |

slide a scrap piece of high density plastic that I got from the wood working shop
hey, AR noobie here.. I'm getting some of the tools i need for my first build. Does anyone make such a piece of high density plastic that i could just buy that's the correct height? I've seen the same thing done with pliers but with my luck I'll still muff something up.
Thanks |

Thanks 3/8” is the thickness needed to support the ear. Just get a piece of 3/8” HDPE or UHMWPE from eBay or woodcraft and it will last you forever. Here is a link for $14... enough to last you forever |

Anyone know of a write up that covers the magazine release button? TIA Slide the mag catch bar into the receiver, put the spring through the hole the button goes in, then screw the button in. When you get it close to the receiver, align it, push it in as far as you can (I use a pen) and spin the mag catch bar clockwise and then insert a mag and fine tune until it holds the mag tight, but drops free when you push the button. |

Now you, or someone, needs to make a bunch of those push rods for installing the bolt catch pin. You'll sell a lot of them.
Oh, and make a tools list, with links. |

what size center punch did you use, and how can you tell how tight to make the castle nut without actually measuring it?
