So I jumped into long range shooting late last year. So far I'm loving it! I'm shooting a 6.5 creedmoor and it's a laser.
I decided to build a new rifle for 308 only matches. I wanted a Razor HD, but ran out of budget. I found a PST 6-24 at my lgs for a great deal. Probably because gen 2s are coming.
I tried to mount and level the scope but the reticle seemed "off" . I run a small business solo so my time gets limited. I took it to my local shop and had my shooting coach mount and level it. He found the same thing, reticle not level with turrets. He said he has seen this before and it wasn't a big deal. As long as reticle was level.
We took it out for a quick range trip and it seemed off. Only got a few attempted groups in and we called it a day.
I put rifle away for the week and just last night brought it out for some final tweaks. I took off rear cap(vortex flip up) and tried to focus the diopter a little better. When I touched the diopter, the reticle moved. I was shocked. I tried again, major movement. I took it to a practice match today and had two other people look at it, not good.
LGS does not have any more of this model to exchange me, so I'm stuck. Worst part is, I have the biggest match of the year coming up in three weeks. With shipping time and needing time to mount and re zero scope, I'm afraid I won't get it done.
Anyone ever had this issue. Any way to fix it? I'm going to call Vortex Monday am and I'm sure they will take care of it. Just wondering if there was something I could do.
