I headed to a gun show today. Mind you it's a very, very rare time that I find anything I "need" at a gun show. Normally I'm buying a pound of powder (when I can find benchmark) a couple hundred projectiles, or a couple of AR mags. There are never much in the way of "deals".
I'm building a new 3-gun/HD/General Purpose AR. I have an 18" 3 gun build now, but I wanted a 16" for a bit of length savings and faster transitions. And although my MTAC has treated me well, I wanted a bit of upgrade in the glass. Once I looked through the Razor 1-6 I was sold. I want the JM-1 reticle because a BDC makes more sense to me for the type of shooting I'll likely do than a MRAD or MOA setup.
This gun show was kinda sad - Snowmageddon kept a bunch of the dealers away, and very few customers came out. As I walked the aisles, the first thing I found was 8 lb of Benchmark. I haven't seen an 8lb container of my powder in over 6 years. Sold.
I keep wandering and come across a table with a Razor 1-6. Unfortunately it's not the JM-1 reticle. They want a few bucks below standard internet price, but I want the JM-1.
A few rows down I find a table with a JM-1 Razor. Ask the price and have to get him to repeat it. Talk it over, get them to order me a mount to go with it, pull plastic.
I now own a piece of glass that will cost more than the rest of the rifle. *gulp* Can't wait to get it done and try it out.
