Yes, it works great for people with astigmatism. I have a slight astigmatism where any red dot, eotech being the worst because of the reticle is blurry. I have the issue with eotech, aimpoint, cmore etc. If I have my perscription glasses which correct for that I can see them fine and without distortion. Without the glasses however its a total mess. The spit fire is just like a scope so it will be just as clear as a scope just with no magnification and you can focus it as well. I have looked at the leupold prismatic as well and liked the vortex better as its a good reticle feels like a more robust design and alot less cash. I have one now and love it. It is crystal clear and I have a nice crisp image. The center dot is fine so if your shooting at distance any it makes it much easier to shoot than a larger glowing dot. If the battery dies, unlike red dots, you still have the reticle to see which is a big advantage in my eyes.. I love mine and my last aimpoint is about to go pretty soon and this will replace it
