First of all, you all make excellent products. I work for a fairly large FFL and we have just about every major MFG available to us.
The people I work with know I have a very strict set of requirements for equipping their ARs and rifles and even handguns with MRDs and I am a HUGE fan of the Strikefire, SPARC, and Viper PST 1-4s.
But, I'll occasionally see a reason to think outside the box.
So, here's some ideas I'd like to give you all.
1. 12hr auto shut-off on the SPARC, Strikefire, and RAZOR MRDs. This is to facilitate users who may require quick deployment of a carbine in a LE engagement that may not remember to turn the optic on. 6hrs is ok for most people, but when some LE agencies have officers on a 10hr shift, giving ample room for that optic to be used might not be a bad idea. The battery life is efficient enough to remain on for deployment if they're dispatched to a call at 30min-1hr from heading home.
2. Make a CR123A version of the Strikefire. Using the same batteries as a TLR-1/2/3/4, Surefire X200/300/400, and many handheld lights isn't a bad idea for those of us who have piles of 123s. It's not that the CR2 is a bad battery, but when someone comes to me for equipping their ARs with the best I have to offer, it would make it much simpler to have someone buy a 12 pack of 123s and be able to use them on their light and optic. When someone buys a LMT MRP from me I tell them one of the benefits of the SOPMOD stock is that it will hold 3 CR123A batteries, which means they've got 1 for their XPS, and 2 for the TLR-1S or X300 I'm installing on the gun.
3. Make a red/green SPARC for shooters who'd like to have a lightweight carbine with a durable optic that their eyes will pick up faster in daylight. The eye picks up green faster than red and I've even had people come in with red color-blindness that said the Strikefire in green was the first time they saw a dot in the optic.
4. 5-25 or 8-32 RAZOR EBR2MRAD. I have NF at work and the EBR2MRAD reticle is awesome, but some shooters will want that extra magnification.
5. Viper PST 1-6x. Street price around $1000. I doubt it will compete with the RAZOR 1-6 JM simply because that reticle is much different, and someone I spoke to Friday said it would replace his Aimpoint T1 due to the versatility of variable magnification and only having a center dot at 1x.
I should also reiterate that there should probably be a change in price on these optics to validate the updating of models. I don't expect anything to be free, but these are things I'd like to see happen and I think they'll benefit all parties involved.
Thanks again for taking a look here God bless you guys.
