I have a SPARC 1 & an American Defense AD-T1-L. Don't like the AD, difficult to fit & remove from some rails. This $20 replacement is better.
BTW, the power button on the side was a bad idea. It always turns on inside a soft case. At least the SPARC 2 fixes this. SPARC 1 battery was not a big issue, except trying to find one locally. A CR2032 with a US Nickel behind it also works. If the SPARC 2 lens caps are anything like the Strikefire's, they are terrible; impossible to lock closed with one hand. The Butler Creek are far superior. |

You may want yo give us a call on those caps. We re-designed the Strikefire caps a while ago and they close a lot nicer now. We can probably swap yours out with a pair that closes nicer. Same thing with the SPARC II caps. They close very well, too.

I have a couple Sparcs that I got a good deal on. I like how they work, but have a couple things I'm looking for:
1) A good QD mount for an AR. Of course I want something cheap, lightweight, and solid... but understand that such a thing may not exist. I'll pay for a quality mount if it exists. Would rather have absolute or a hair higher, not quite lower 1/3. 2) Flip up caps like the Sparc II Any suggestions for each? I'll probably be mounting one of them on a Saiga 12 in the not too distant future too, should be a good test. |

I might do that but would rather not spend quite that much if I can find something else that would work. Any idea if this: https://www.primaryarms.com/Aimpoint_Micro_LRP_Picatinny_Mount_Kit_p/12184.htm or this: https://www.primaryarms.com/Arms_Unlimited_Quick_Release_Lever_Mount_Conversio_p/lmc-btrs.htm will work?

Hey guys just a follow up on this- this primary arms piece will work on the SPARC or SPARC II. Thanks again.

On the sparc 2, can the flip ups and extensions be removed?
|
|
|
Flip up caps can be removed. I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you're referring to by extensions though.

https://www.primaryarms.com/Arms_Unlimited_Quick_Release_Lever_Mount_Conversio_p/lmc-btrs.htm so that one will fit? I guess I'll be making an order for a couple soon. Thanks. It's a lot cheaper than the other options I'd found.

http://www.leapers.com/prod_detail.php?mitem=mount&level1=QD_Rail_Adaptors&level2=&itemno=MNT-RSQD403&status=&mtrack=16m https://www.primaryarms.com/Arms_Unlimited_Quick_Release_Lever_Mount_Conversio_p/lmc-btrs.htm I have the Arms Unlimited Quick-Release Lever Mount Conversion Kit on a TRS-25. It's not as quick to release or mount as it appears. You must loosen the opposing screw to lift the optic off the rail & then tighten it again to lock the lever in place. It does return to zero, but the UTG is a better solution if you can tolerate the extra 15mm height. |

I own the Sparc II. It's been awesome on a .22 M&P, 5.56, and even a shotgun for slugging coyotes. I am looking to get a sight specifically for my AR and am loving the Spitfire AR. Any reason NOT to swap my Sparc II for the AR? I love the thought of the etched reticle on my do-all AR

Hi All-
Clueless noob here asking for some advice. I've just bought my first gun ever ( S&W MP15 Sport2 5.56) that I intend to use for home defense (CQB) and indoor range. I obviously love the Trijicon MRO and ACOG, but can't justify the price for ME. But, I'm leaning towards Vortex for the lifetime warranty, AAA battery, and price. I'm trying to decide between the following: Sparc AR Spitfire AR prism Please advise. Thanks in advance. PS 2 complaints: The Sparc AR does not seem to have an objective/field of view as good as the Trijicon MRO, I hate the Spitfire AR reticle. I much prefer a "horseshoe around a dot" reticle like the Primary Arms ACSS. I think a Spitfire AR with the Primary Arms ACSS reticle would be the perfect optic for me. |
|
|
I've not tried any other red dots but I have switched to several different optics for my AR and I keep returning to the original Sparc because it simply works. I've used this at the range and in the field and it continues to be my favorite. Right now I'm wishing for a EOTech XPS3 but I simply don't have the money for that, so I'll keep shooting my Sparc.

I bought mine a year ago and have been mostly satisfied. Recently, it started flickering or just plain shutting off while shooting. I replaced the battery and believed that was the fix. Unfortunately it wasn’t. I contacted Vortex. They immediately sent a shipping label. I mailed it back and voila! A week later I had a brand new sight sitting on my porch. You can’t beat that for service. Thank you Vortex!
