Awesome! Can't wait to see the pics.
Also, do you know if SWFA would carry this already since it looks like on their site you are able to order one? Or is it just pre-ordering? http://www.swfa.com/pc-12783-2214-new-vortex-1x30-strikefire-red-dot-30mm-sight.aspx |

That must be a pre-order because we don't have them finished yet. I only have prototypes at this point. We expect to have them ready to ship by June. |

Be happy to drop off some of their pastries :) Or you guys could drop one off a C's restaurant...at breakfast time...as I havent had their eggs benedict for a while... Hope you guys consider a 3X or 4X doubler...as Aimpoint & Eotech prices are way up there for theirs... |

Thanks a lot for the interest guys! We don't have any units we can give out for demo right now, but we've had lots of interest in people wanting to do testing.
When we get closer to releasing the product I will let you know if we will be sending out demo units. |

It appears, to me, that with the doubler on that it wouldn't like to take a beating....you guys beat this thing around at all?
Also, the one from the 'catalog' picture has differnt flip up's...which ones will be shipped? To me it looks like all the other chicom made clones, except you guys added a rheostat with some buttons to it for a different angle to a flooded market. |

The pictures are of a prototype that is not finished yet. The catalog picture is something that I rendered in Solidworks until we get the final production sights in stock. The final production model will look like the Solidworks rendering. This particular product in our line is made in China, but I am the one doing the CAD work and design. |

First of all... Thanks for your presence and participation on the forum. While there does seem to be a lot cheap extremely low-end chicom optics available. What we are lacking is a good selection of decent quality optics in the mid-level price range. The Strikefire seems to fill that void. With the specs I've seen so far and the included warranty, I have no doubt I'll be giving this one a try as soon as it's available. Thanks again for your involvement and support of the site. |

I am real interested to see how this optic pans out.
I would love to see some good old fashioned arfcom torture testing, just to see exactly how tough the units are. |

If the price is right, I would go for one over a CloneDot anyday.

The price looks pretty right on SWFA, let me know when you want to test one in the arctic (send ammo too)

How is the magnifier going to attach to the strikefire? Is it threaded or some sort of quick attach mechanisim?

Sam, I noticed on your original post that you list the doubler and choice of mounts as being included with the scope. However, on your website ad you have the low mount and no doubler listed in the "Included with the Vortex StrikeFire Red Dot" description. Will the doubler and high mount choice be included with the scope, or will they be optional items? I just want to be sure to order everything I need for my AR application. Thanks again for the StrikeFire. RM |

It threads into the back of the StrikeFire. |

The website is incorrect and should say that the doubler is included. I've put in a change request to IT to get that fixed. It does include a doubler and a choice of low or high (ar15) mount. I just realized that the link I put up is for the hunting version, not the AR-15 version. I'll get that changed ASAP. We are basically marketing this scope as either for shotgun/turkey hunters (they would want to order with the low mount), or for the AR-15 market (they would order the high mount for co-witness). The mount height is the only difference between the two versions. So, when they are available and you place an order just make sure that you are placing the order for the AR-15 version. Thanks for pointing that out! |

Rev,
The doubler and ring are included with the Strikefire. When ordering, just specify whether you need the low ring or high AR ring. SWFA should be getting both versions listed on their site if you oder through them. Paul |

For the $129 that SWFA is asking for them (including a mount and doubler), I don't see how I could go wrong!
I can't wait to try one out! God Bless and HAPPY EASTER!!! Doc S |

This sight looks like exactly what I'm looking for.
Could you please elaborate on the paralax issue? * Parallax free past 50 yards. What exactly is paralax under 50 yds going to do for close quarters sighting since thats the main selling point for most AR mounted red dots? Any further details on relese dates? Thanks for your time. edit: Any thoughts as to making a couple different magnifiers available? Maybe a 2x and a 4x? Dont know the feasability of doing so, or what limits size has on things but it may be a real selling point. I know I would like to have the option of having a couple different magnifiers I could attach. Thanks again. |
