Yeah, I admit I first had in mind it being a tOBR or a costa type thing with a Grendel barrel and bolt. But for me, I think I like it precisely because it is different. It remains to be seen if I like the key mod, but I already have a small frame tOBR converted to Grendel, so this makes it different enough to be more interesting I think. That's my opinion and therefore applies to me, and not everyone likes the same thing. Having said that, I'm really surprised this thing's still for sale if there were anything less than 500. I've hoped for a full on LaRue built Grendel since the elk story, and I'm a big fan of the cartridge, so I jumped on it within the first two minutes.

The last batch of FDE rifles took a couple days to sell out but there were 375. How many are in this batch?

i think these would have flew off the shelf if they were on the tobr frame instead of the keymod 2.0 stealth. this seems to be a larue record close to 12 hours later they are still not sold out. i wonder why mark decided to go with the new keymod over the proven sellers? it appears they are using the tobr nut as the description says wrench included. pete View Quote |

Neat rifle and very tempted to get one, but I'm going to sit on my hands and hope that there is a 6.5G cartridge for my tOBR soon(tm).

So, is there a chance of barrels/bolts for sale in the near future?

Smart move - about 1/2 the buyers went for the barrel and scope add-ons. I'm betting this will be one of your favorite rifles. ML View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Well, looks like I'm in again. Ordered with the scope and the 5.56 parts. Damn you, Mark Larue. I'm betting this will be one of your favorite rifles. ML as for the scope I thought a rifle like that needed more than 6x.. now the problem will be finding the right scope for it with a 30mm main tube.. as all of the scopes I favor have 34mm main tubes. |

Inexpensive, illuminated reticle for whackin' hogs in low light. ETA - and I killed that bull elk with a 4 power Burris. |
|
Well just like any gun depends on what intended use is.. I have a 900m feild here I like to stretch things out in.. always conside my LaRue rifles long range precision rigs. I just think 18inch barrle is a little to long to carry around.. to much for hunting. Becase my rifles alway have supressors on them.. one if those I did pick up !!
Hummmm but I could have got that scope to put on another rifle.... lol |
|
That scope has an MSRP of $489 on the Burris page. The LT104 is regularly $210. Combine the scope with a FDE LT104 and that is a great deal. I have a 1x4 NF in an LT104 that I have put to great use that cost more than double.
The 6x scope should be more than enough magnification. We shoot M1 Garands to 600 yards with iron sights. The 6.5 Grendel will have the advantage of less recoil, a free floated barrel, a high BC bullet and a 6X scope. MoAR better. The 18" 6.5 Grendel should turn the light weight AR platform into a very good 600 yard rifle. Thanks for offering these Mark. Now I have a light weight rifle that can reach out past my 5.56 1-7 twist 77 gr SMK ARs and still be easy to carry. Fr8dog |

Low power scopes are apparently under rated, for some reason. It seems like some folks always looking at bigger scopes that go to 20+. I don't think you need, or really want too much magnification in most cases. Good glass and a good field of view has served me well, especially in hunting situations. ACOG or a good scope turned down to lower setting.

Can't get the rifle (CA) , hoping for sparrels at a later date.

All the talk about the 5.56 made me go look, now I understand. When I ordered I didn't even ask how much the 5.56 barrel add was and said no. At that price, maybe I can still add it on. ??

When are they going to start shipping? Is the standard 2 week answer going to apply here? |

Can I request the same number as my fde heavy and ude light?
I think I'll be calling and adding the barrel and scope Monday anyway as I saw the e mail at 9:30 I figured I. Could not waste time and just hit no and ordered, sure would be nice to have a numbered set. Pete |

Lot's of World Record Elk Killer Rifles left to BUY!!!! Not going as quick as they thought maybe?? This marketing is getting about as old as the 'world record elk kill story (slash) sales pitch (slash)....How about just offering it up minus the Bullshi$$$$$$$$T? (just for sh&ts & giggles of course)....probably sell faster with our own imaginations. Mine anyway. Less is more at times.

I did not see anything about them being numbered or even how many there are. And since there are still some up on the websight 48 hr latter... I would say more than other limited runs.. or no one wants to buy a Grendel lol

They lasted too long. I was on the fence about getting the 6.5G but couldn't resist any longer. I ended buying all of the accessories also as they were a smoking deal.
I've honestly never looked much at the 6.5G caliber. It will go nicely with my other gas guns (5.56, 300BLK, 7.62, .260). This may become my go to close-midrange hunting rig. |

That 5x5 bull walked up out of the timber and I was on the far side of the deep ravine. It looked extremely edible, so I whacked him. with the add on option, I may end up going with the tranquilo. I've got cans in a trust, but didn't think I could pull off a hassle of sending half an order to one location and half to another. Barrel might happen, but I've still got a couple in the safe from buildAR, and the sale.

I ordered a Tranquillo. I haven't bought any NFA items since the new rules. I have some on individual and the rest in a trust.
I just looked at the new rules and it looks like fingerprints/photo has to be sent in on a trust. Is it only one person or everyone on the trust? Sorry, I know this is best in some other forum but I don't want to hear some BS. Just straight answers and I hope that folks who can afford to drop thousands of dollars on LT gear can give one. Thx. |
