Gas block sticking out is a non issue, KAC m110 has a block protruding from the hand guard as well.

.260 sparrel on hand. Swapped it out on the tOBR.
FYI I tried to put my tOBR .308 barrel onto the FDE 7.62 (mainly because it shoots bugholes and I have a surefire can) and its a no go. I have one of the first tOBR's and the barrel nut is too long, I see the newer ones are recessed for more clearance. |
|
|
My 260 barrel arrives today and that got me thinking on swapping it out and then I realized all my barrel/ vise clamps were designed for 5.56. So what are people using for clamps to hold the upper while swapping the barrel or muzzle device. Normally I would use the Geissele Reaction Rod for the muzzle device and then a clamshell in the vise to hold the uppper when torquing the barrel nut.

I thought the Gen 3 Magpul PRS stocks don't fit the Larue Heavy? Is that what you guys have on yours in the photos above?

Anyone wanna trade a brand new unmounted 22" sparrel for a new 18"? Test target is .742.

He called the ATF while I was there and they said both had been approved and mailed. He was going to send an email. Supposed to get it done soon. Mine were sent in May 5, 2016. Don't have a tOBR for my 22".....Mega has a 16" rail matched to a billet receiver. I was going to build something with my 762 barrel....guess it will be my 260 instead.

I shot 3 rounds with the Hornady 130gr ELD Match, and I was well on my way to a tight group and then the 4th round opened it up to a .728 (Pretty sure it was human error and not ammo related). I didn't shot the 5th round as a storm was rolling in and winds were changing and gusting all over the placed, and I needed to get all my gear inside, and pull targets before the down-pour. Once I get my reloading dies in and some lapua brass loaded up I think I can make that .455 group a little smaller still... |

The specs of the stock say it will work with a rifle, carbine, and A5 length tube. Also do the Gen 2's need the same length tube? |

I had to order a rifle buffer tube for my 7.62 tOBR that I put a Gen 2 PRS on. I also had to order a rifle length buffer tube for my .260 tOBR that I put a Gen 3 PRS on. The carbine buffer tube on a LaRue heavy (7.62/.260) rifle is about 1/2" longer than the standard AR15 carbine buffer tube and will not work with a Gen 3 Magpul PRS. I am not sure if the gen 3 will work with the A5 or at least not with all A5s. The two Larue heavy buffer tubes that I took off of my rifles are very close to the same length as my A5 buffer tubes from Vltor. Hope this is useful, Fr8Dog |

By adding the 18" 260 barrel to the FDE what sticks out from under the hand guard? Is it just the pst? Is this an issue?

Swapped to a SiCo muzzle brake to be able to use the Omega.
10.2 MOA shift down with just a brake swap. Seems excessive? 9.2 difference suppressed. Had one failure at around round count 85. I didn't get the case out in time and smashed the mouth of the case. |
