I'm still in with Pete teaching the class. I doubt Todd would have someone on his staff that was anything but a stellar instructor....not to mention 30 years at the tip of the spear.
Am I kinda an ass for not wanting a TON of people in our class? |

7 is a great size for this type of class.
And I think 308 shooters should be welcome as well. |
|

I'm interested, I'm not in the 260 tobr club but I do have a Tikka 260 if you folks don't mind that. Pm me some info if possible, I may be able to get my brother in law to tag along depending on the date. I'm about 2 hours southeast of Austin.

I'll keep the updates here in the thread for now. Once we get 7 people and details / payment needed, I'll move to PMs.
Here's where we're at: 1. Accuracy 1st Long Range 2 Class. 2. Pete Gould suggested a 3-day course since there is so much information to cover and a third day would give us more shooting time. Appears the hive currently prefers the 3-day course. 3. Course could be M-W, 27-29 November, 2017; or possibly T-Th, 28-30 November, 2017. 4. Cost will be $1050 for the 3-days, plus any transportation costs, lodging and food. I'm sure we can double up, share cars, eat only Spam and expired MREs, etc. 5. I do not know if this would be at the Austin Gun Club or the Clarendon facilities, but each is basically in Austin, TX. 6. Instructor will be Pete Gould, who is Todd's lead instructor. 7. Course is limited to 7 people, we may be able to go to 8, but for now, it's 7 people. 8. From the Accuracy 1st site - "Refund & Cancellation Policy: There will be no charge for rescheduling your class to a different date (where available). For cancellations a 10% charge will be incurred, if it is less than 2 weeks prior to class, there will be a 50% charge." I DO NOT know the policy for a special class, but we can start with their standard policy. 9. Course is NOT limited to people with LaRue 260 rifles, it was just a thought since we were discussing in the .260 thread. 10. I do not have any lodging or local transportation information, yet. I believe we have the following people committed (I'll update as needed): 1. D3. 2. MikeiinNC. 3. dHUTCH. 4. OPEN. 5. OPEN. 6. OPEN. 7. OPEN. 8. TBD if needed. |

Love the 260 but I've thrown the heaviest buffer I can find into it and it still won't run exactly like I want it to suppressed. Debating selling the tOBR with the 22" 260 and 18" 7.62 in lieu of a custom left hand bolt action. Has some knicks in the upper receiver where brass ejected into it. Any idea what the whole setup would be worth if I put it on gunbroker? I was thinking $3500 but would like some input. Still kicking the idea around cause I really don't want to get rid of it, but I'm getting tired of fighting the dang thing and sinking money into it to try to make it work.

The class sounds fun. I will work on the wife this weekend. She just let me get a new CRF450r last week so it will be a stretch. The new bike is fast and my right elbow and left knee are currently on strike because of it.
I have a pile of ammo ready and a place to stay in Roundrock if needed. Let me see if I have any capital left with her. Will advise. |

You folks having Reliability issues, are you all using 22" barrels???
Shot my 18" 260 for the first time last night. Same setup as I run .308. stock spring and buffer. Tried both SF sps300 and Mini 2 cans. BTW got a sub .5 group with factory ELD-M. Black gold trigger FTW. Every combination I tried was successful for multiple groups, and 20 round mag dumps, with the ELD's I tried... ELD S/US settings, and with both cans it gives me ejection in the 1-2 o clock in all variances FGMM US setting had a malfunction with a group. Then put it on S and did a mag dump and no problems. FGMM with S and Can only worked with SF Mini 2 for complete mag dump. Had 2 FTE over 20 round dump with SPS300 Round count is a 240... with only 3 malfunctions, all were with FGMM related Might get a slightly heavier buffer just to see if anything gets better, but looks like I will be buying cases of Hornady ELD'S for this baby. Im super glad I way outshot the shootist whom had a .970 group. I truly think the Black gold is a difference maker, as the factory group on my .308 was .386. I am UBER happy Mr. Larue |
