Hi everyone, this is my first time posting in the LaRue section..more to come though when I receive my rifle.
I wanted to inquire with you guys about your experience with the current shortage of Surefire SOCOM muzzle brakes and their subsequent effect on rifle delivery. I ordered my 5.56 PredatOBR in 14.5" so naturally this affects my delivery since mine can't ship without being pin and welded (for those of you getting ready to shoot from the hip, no I'm not changing it to 16"). With that being said, has anyone with a similar configuration that ordered their's in the October - December time frame received their rifle? Or what has been your experience with customer service and time frames?

Same problem dude. Ordered mine October 14, same rifle as you. Was told it would be about 8 weeks and here it is coming up on week 17 tomorrow. I don't blame Larue... they told me it was the Surefire shortage and if you look other places online, nobody has it.
I emailed Dan at Larue the other day and he informed me that they were getting the Procomp in stock as of Tuesday or Wednesday and they could throw that on for my rifle to ship next week.
I am currently in NJ, so no suppressors for me, so it was a tempting option. However, my wife and I are putting our house up soon and crossing the river to Pennsylvania so I decided to hold out for the Socom brake, which can accept the suppressors. At this point, it would be silly to give in and if I wanted that to begin with, I would have just gotten a tar.
Unfortunately they haven't been able to say when they will get them in either. Sucks, but it's not on Larue so I can't get mad with them.
I'll also add that I am unable to have a flash hider on my rifle per New Jersey's fucked up laws. So the brake is my only option either way.
