Never dry fire an AR trigger...

I use magpul dummy/training rounds loaded in a mag for trigger manipulation

It's working correctly. Dry firing without the upper installed or an upper without a BCG will allow the hammer's forward movement to strike the lower.

I thought I heard that one should rest the firing pin atop the lower while doing this, so that the firing pin absorbs some of the force of the hammer as it shoots into the ceiling?
Oh, that's right. Only when the FedGov supplies the parts. |

Had a guy manage to somehow get his MBT into the lower with both supplied springs ... then started to grind components to encourage them to work ...
No worries, covered under warranty. |
