IMHO, This is about getting the most bang for the buck for CQB-M4. I also gathered that time is of the essence. IMHO, a raffle with a manageable number of tickets to raise a set amount would be fast and efficient. If tickets were offered at $20 we could certainly sell 500 very quickly. That also means the responsible party has to manage a lot more sales and tickets. One or two hundred tickets will sell fast, raise the same amount of money and be far easier to manage. I have the time to do the the raffle piece of this. But I don't have the technology to do the funds handling. If someone has that technical knowlege and would like me to handle the raffle part I will help out. I will not participate in the raffle if I am helping with it. Randall, Any knife you donate would be the icing on the cake. I would recommend choosing one and just letting people know, this is the knife... View Quote This sounds like the plan. I will be sure it is an all purpose blade. ETA: And a fancy hard wood handle, like Mr.L wants to put on his new bolt gun the Siete.. |

I'm really curious about how fast the tickets will go, if they go in half hour, why not bump it up to another hundred tickets? I understand having a time limit on sales, maybe just do a 24hr window, no ceiling. Might as well take all the money people want to give.
With the selling dillos and using those as tickets, I can see where a certain number is necessary, but after that, some people still might be willing to enter and not receive a dillo. |

IMHO, Time and resources. LT is running a business and trying to do some good on the side. Raising $10,000 in very short order is a very good thing and minimizes resource utilization. He knows he needs to make 200 dillos and draw a number, simple and resources are not tied up beyond a set limit. It gets more complicated beyond that and he has a business to run. If others want to give good on them! There are other ways to do so...

View Quote People's willingness to pay a premium for a ticket is based on the limited number of tickets. The deal as laid out thus far has been 200 dillos for $50 a piece. Unless we hear otherwise, that's what we should expect. Don't be surprised if Striker doesn't have a second raffle in the pipe line from another Industry Partner. The final bill mentioned by the family is expected to be at least $50,000. They are trying to raise half that to keep their head above water & I'm sure pay lawyers to help sort out the court side of things if there is medical malpractice discovered/verified during the surgery M4-CQBR needs to get a reasonable standard of life back.
