Back years ago, I started out a UHFO thread with a sketch of a novel I was thinking about writing ...
No, not the same. 9/30/2012 1:50:15 PM CDT In the meantime, I'll sketch it out here ... all rights reserved - A former SF guy, we'll call him Mike, aka Rockchuck, is discreetly headed home for some Christmas R&R. Coming out of Europe,we don't know what he's been doing, but his employer doesn't send him out without a full book of tags to fill. Some would call him a hitman. His father Sid, retired Marine, retired airline pilot, who flew close air support in Vietnam, who will also never get flying out of his system, is flying his mother, his only sibling, his sister Sarah, and her new husband in from the family farm in Mena, Arkansas in the dad's new Cirrus SR-22 to Fayetteville, NC, so they can all spend the holidays at Myrtle Beach. Something went wrong ... terribly wrong ... the plane performed a CFIT, Controlled Flight Into Terrain - it hit and exploded approximately 1/2 mile south of the Clingman's Dome overlook in the Smoky Mountains. No chance to deploy the 'chute. FAA blamed it on scud running through cumulus granite. 2 years later ... By a cruel twist of fate, Mike is out of the Army, out of family, he has nobody. Mike's two best friends went down in separate IED attacks in Afghanistan. He carried their caskets into Arlington. Mike has been brooding silently on the family farm. America, everything Mike's dad and Mike fought for, is going down the drain. Democrats and their welfare constituents have taken control. With over-whelming approval of ultra-liberal mass media, incumbents are shoo-ins, one after another after another. Mike hatches a plan. 1 year later ... In a random event, an apprentice crane jocky lets a load get away from him, pulling the crane off the top of a high rise, where it and the load falls onto the crowds lining the strip below. Sitting in an unstylish Vegas pay-by-the-week hotel ... Mike listens to the scanner, the type of scanner the big 3 local stations listen to. The scanner crackles with news of the unfolding disaster ... Rockchuck quietly deploys. The news crews fight for position, fighting to get their blond bombshells into the most dramatic spot to go live from. Without fanfare, a non-descript sewer service truck slips into position also. Filled with long-distance optics, gadgetry of all sorts, and an assortment of suppressed rifles, it has been equipped to swing America's pendulum. With emergency vehicles squawling by, Mike calmly takes concealed aim at the latest geometrically endowed TV personality for "Vegas Live". "Okay, we're about to go live" - "10 Seconds" - "5, 4, 3, 2, 1 you're on the air". "Hi, I'm Stacy Landr ..." Stacy's head disappears on air to a mortified audience. 2 hours later, that video went viral. 6 months later ... In a random event, a passenger train derails Sitting in an bird-dog Tampa pay-to-play hotel ... Mike keeps an ear to scanner. Like months before, the scanner crackles with news of the unfolding disaster ... Rockchuck, having been patiently waiting for months, drives away. The news crews again fight for position, fighting to get their latest blond bombshells into the most dramatic spot to go live from. Without fanfare, the non-descript sewer service truck slips into position again. Filled with long-distance optics, gadgetry of all sorts, and an assortment of suppressed rifles, it has been so equipped to swing America's pendulum. With firemen dragging out hoses, from 350 meters out Mike calmly takes aim at the latest TV personality for "Tampa Now!". "10 Seconds" - "5, 4, 3, 2, 1 - Stormy, you are on the air". "Hi, I'm Stormy Sunvall ..." Stormy's head slams back ... on air ... to an equally mortified audience. 1 hour later, the video goes viral. 3 random events over several months in randomly selected sectors of America later ... An argument breaks out in the perspiration-filled news room ... "HELL NO, I WILL NOT GO !!! HE MAY BE OUT THERE !!" News crews become reluctant to cover sensational stories ... of any sort ... afraid they will be shot live, literally ... Ad revenue plummets, Democrat-controlled media influence begins to flag ... Mike's plan comes together. The hippies of the sixties can't handle well placed gore when it comes out of them. Intermission ... M. LaRue View Quote ETA - To choose his next random move, Rockchuck randomly pics his next city by the old turkey shoot rules he changed up a little. He and his dad always hit the turkey shoots in the fall. Mike staples a map of the U.S. on a plywood backing at 30 yards, then uses the jungle Model 12 his dad brought back from 'Nam to shoot one shot swarm of #6's at it, then picks the city with over a million population that's closest to a pellet. |

Make sure you have a guy named Jeff in it.
He can be the screw up goofball FBI agent that aligns himself with Mike to circumvent Fed LEO. Maybe his last name could be Edwards, yeah... Jeff Edwards. And maybe have him suffer from erectile dysfunction with an affinity for overweight black hookers. |

I think Mark and my buddy at Marmatt.com should collaborate on a book..... BTW, a new Mitch Rapp book is coming out next month. Don't know how much of it was written by Vince Flynn before his passing, another gentleman at least finished it. When it arrives I will find out if it is as good as the others. Been preordered for months...
