If I get my hands on one, I am going to get a LaRue upper and Stealth handguard, throw a 7.62x39 barrel in it, and make a LRx39 Stealth.
Still havent made up my dang mind yet...leaning towards going with a stealth 5.56 barrel and then using one of my other 2 non Larue ARs to build the 240 Tomohawk on...decisions...decisions...

If all else fails, it will be a stealth, but I'm really, REALLY hoping it's a tOBR. |

Got my lower back from the engraver, now I'm just waiting on the damn stamp and for LT to start selling 300blk uppers
Review of Tarheel State Firearms cross posted from the SBR forum: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was one of the lucky few to snag a LaRue LT-15 lower when they were selling them and decided to SBR it for what I believe will be an upcoming LaRue 300blk short barreled upper. Since it's going to be such a high quality build, I wanted everything to be perfect, so I got the idea to match the factory font for the engraving. In my career, I generate line art for DoD technical manuals. Part of my process involves using Adobe Illustrator, so after taking careful photos of the factory markings on my lower, I copied the LaRue font and generated a vector graphic of my trust name text. I sent this to Teri at Tarheel State Firearms and explained the whole concept. She was actually more concerned about getting the match to be exact than I was. Obviously it looks a bit different, because LaRue Tactical puts their lettering on before the anodizing, and I'm guessing it gets a media blast to round the edges. Still, there is only a subtle difference in the lettering. The font is spot on, the depth is spot on, and the sizing is spot on. Teri did an excellent job on the engraving and her communication with me was extremely thorough. She called and emailed me at least a dozen times with photos of test runs and feedback just to make absolutely sure that I was satisfied with the final product. I have to say, the result was beyond professional. To a casual observer, they would probably think it came from the factory that way. My hat is off to Teri and Scott at Tarheel for the fantastic work. http://www.tarheelstatefirearms.com |
