the first time I heard my uncle call them that I was in tears. Still get a good laugh at it every time. I was on a test drive with a customer early last week and she had one. Turned beat red, started getting flushed, and taking the deep breaths. She looked over at me and said sorry. I busted out laughing and asked "power surge?" Needless to say she was happy that I didn't get phased by it and we both laughed pretty hard. |

What's everyone's opinion of the EXPS 3-0?
I've had a broken EOtech for a long time and finally got around to emailing the repair guys to see about getting it fixed. No dice but they do a trade-up credit if I send it in. I'm not an EOtech fan but it seems like a pretty good deal and I'm short on optics right now |

There's a reason you have a broken Eotech. Every time I look into Eotech I'm underwhelmed, but for the conversation I visited their website and checked out the model you mentioned. This time was no different. |

big day today for me....I just got an application to go back to school to work on my doctorate....now to decide whether to send it in or not. I am a little flattered that the director of the program sent me one and offered to waive the enrollment fee without me really asking for it....3 years and a bunch of $$ though.

View Quote I would never say education is a bad thing. But, is a PhD necessary? Last week, my son announced his plans to get a Masters. For his career plan, it's not needed. Hell, a bachelors isn't needed either. The idea is he's going to work for me, and when he's up to speed, I'm hanging it up. But if things go south, for whatever reason, he'll be damned glad to have that degree, and a Masters won't hurt. Oh, and he has his mind made up that he'll get his Bachelors a semester early, and then get the Masters in a year and 1/2. |

I already have the masters...back in undergrad I started in Mechanical Engineering, ended up in Computer Engineering. Went straight to grad school and have a pretty cushy job now, total package nearing three digits. With a doctorate my other possibilities do open up. There are times though that I would give this job/salary up and go teach (Univ. of SC just 30 minutes away). I figure that at my age (35 in a month and a half) it won't hurt, I may never use it completely, but could be a nice backup. |

Wow, after a long painful debate with myself I put my first true love 308 gas gun, a standard M1A I picked up when I was a teenager, on EE and it sold literally in minutes for like $200 more than what remember paying for it...guess I should have done more research on pricing for what I had

Allow me to quantify that statement; when S2S was a teenager buying his first M1A- I was a teenager being rushed to the local clinic and then forwarded to the ER in town to have bits of brass extracted from my head after blowing up a M1A NM.
I fucking hate that design. (Although I do hate worse that I have an affinity toward the Garand, M2 carbine and hence the M1A) |

Last day of the weekend already? I haven't killed a small helpless woodland creature yet, I need to get away from homework.
