I usually get two tracking numbers when I order a rifle, one for swag and one for rifle, did anyone else that got a Costa only get one tracking number? I see red spring and swag on the invoice. Hoping swag doesn't go to the ffl.

I'm curious... Can anyone break down the legacy and "new" Surefire SOCOM muzzle device/suppressor concerns regarding these Costa's?

I'm curious... Can anyone break down the legacy and "new" Surefire SOCOM muzzle device/suppressor concerns regarding these Costa's? View Quote The easiest visible differences are the two grooves cut in the newer Socom models and the the extended indexing tab on the bottom of the Socom version. These are product improvements over the old style. The grooves help prevent carbon buildup on the rear of the mount making it easier to remove after firing. The tab ( what is a better word than 'tab'?) on the bottom helps the Socom suppressor stay indexed and it will not spin. See Mark's earlier comments. You can use either new or old SF suppressors on the older mount. You cannot use the older suppressors on the new mount because of the tab on the bottom. Legacy SF MB Socom SF MB (current) |

We should have a post here on AR15.com that is a registry for Costa rifles - showing screen name and # out of 500. It would be interesting to know how many of these rifles went to Arfcommers.

Average proof-group size ... For this run of 125 Costas = .596" group average. Mark, do you have data regarding the group average for the last three runs of Costa rifles (001-125, 126-250, 251-375)? No, our new shooter is keeping track of targets for best of the day, etc. plus general accuracy data mining. That's a shame. I am extremely interested in seeing how the last run of 125 Costas (376-500) with the new LT in-house barrels compare against the first 375 Costas where group average is concerned. |

The gentleman confirmed that rifles 376-500 would have the new LT barrels. Maybe Mark can weigh in on this for clarification? |
