First post; long time reader of the amazingly homo-erotic and hilarious posts on this forum though...
Figured I'd save the first round for something worth saying.
Ordered my rifle Christmas 2012...
Got married (coincidentally, she was mail order as well... not nearly as expensive though) - 1/13
Fathered a child - 11/13
Honorably discharged from the Navy - 3/14
Finished a degree - 5/14
Started masters degree - 7/14
Got the call today to pick up my 18" OBR 7.62
For anybody questioning whether or not to buy and wait for this rifle (which really isn't too much of an issue anymore)... It's more than worth it.
From the first time you pick it up, you can tell the difference in quality compared to anything else out there.
Besides my baby boy being born, not much else has gotten me this excited, including coming home from deployments....
This is something I will probably keep longer than my wife (jk honey if you're reading this), and something my grandkids will learn to shoot on (legal or not by then).
At any rate, I'm friggin' stoked & wanted to share with people who understood. Not trying to bust balls for those waiting, there are just some things a Russian mail-order bride doesn't understand
Thanks LT for a bad ass product, and thanks LT forum for keeping me entertained the past 20 months.
Now to go spend another deployments' worth of savings on glass, a can, can adaptor, bi-pods, red-dot, mags, reloading equipment, and maybe a t-shirt...
Stay strong gents, it's all worth it in the end.
P.S. Mark, if you need an intern next summer, even just to clean up brass, I'm your guy. Will work for range time (website wouldn't let me put that for $ amount...).
Oh, and what's this Larueminati thing I keep hearing about?
