Good things happen for those who wait! You will receive the muzzle device on your original order unless other arrangements have been made. In my case, an A2, but I inquired about upgrading the MG barrel to a Surefire brake and for the cost of the brake ($134) they installed it for me. |

Got the email!
The proceedure appears that you designate which barrel length you want on the voucher when you return the barrel. |

Forget everything you were told about getting the same muzzle device:
____________________________________________________________________________________ William, "We got your upper and the voucher. On the barrel exchange, we are going to use an A2 hider on one of the barrels, unless you pay for an addition muzzle device. The Surefire Legacy brake that was on your Field Grade barrel can be moved to the Match Grade barrel and then we will use an A2 hider on the Field Grade. If you want Surefire brakes on both barrels, you will have to pay for the new muzzle device. Let us know what you would like to do." V/R Dan Technical Support 512-260-4526 [email protected] ______________________________________________________________________________ Since it wouldn't do any good to argue, I told them to swap the muzzle device and toss the A2 in the box. If I had know this was how it was going to go down, I would have had the money set aside to install another device... So be sure to put away some extra cash if you are wanting the same device on both barrels... I'm not ticked that I would have to pay for another device as I figured we would need to originally, I'm ticked because we were told we wouldn't have to pay extra for it, and now we are.... |

I was under the impression that if you received a 14.5" FG, muzzle device pinned & welded, then you would receive the same set-up with the MG. If you received a 16" or 18" FG barrel, the MG would come with an A2 Hider unless you paid for the upgrade. You can simply remove the muzzle device off of your FREE FG barrel and place it on your new MG....No big deal. We receive so much free shit from LaRue this is a no-brainer! Just sell all of the free items received from LaRue and you will have plenty money to purchase additional muzzle devices.
Look at it this way...They could've just used the same gas tube & gas block from the FG to place on our MG's, leaving us just a barrel. Which would have still be an outstanding circumstance. |

You can simply remove the muzzle device off of your FREE FG barrel and place it on your new MG.... That is not what we were told, I don't know about you. The brake swap from the FG to the MG is what is being done.... I told them to just throw the A2 in the box. I will purchase and install a different muzzle device on the FG after the first of the year. That said, I am thankful that I got a "free" FG barrel, it allowed me to get my rifle several months earlier than I might have otherwise. After a two year wait, and with the threat of a ban in California, I was more than happy to get my rifle even with a FG barrel. While these barrels were "free", it's not like LaRue could have sold them to anyone else. Also, I am sure they wrote off the costs as advertising since it was a good customer service move on their part, something which always helps sales! I am also thankful for the extra parts that will remain on the FG barrel. Not sure if their barrel nut works on anybody else's upper receiver though..... |

It would cost me more money to have the pinned and welded brake removed plus have it pinned and welded a second time. Maybe Larue Tactical should have clarified this initially and provided his customers with some information. Its another 134.10 dollars and life can change a lot in 2.5 years! |
