1. Congratulations Roentgun!
2. RF Missile can you please send me the recipe your using for your tOBR? I want to have my bullet chef cook me up some of what your using.
I will be sending first shots out Wednesday only thing is I'll be using a Bushy Tac Elite 1-8.5. The dot may be a little to big to get sub MOA, but I'll be swinging the bat to try.
Gonna try Fed 168 GMM and Fed Tac Bonded 165

monk501,
Those FED 68 GMM will do you just fine.
I played hooky today and went to the Range to Chrony my 175 SMK's
Before I shot the 175's I shot some 10 of the 168 SMK's and 10 of my 168 AMAX loads, here are those results
Temp started out 75 F then warmed up to 85 F
Sky Cond - partly cloudy
Wind - Calm
Humidity - < 15%
Altitude - 1400'
Baro - 29.90
168gr SMK
New Nosler Custom Brass (did not resize, they were new and perfect - fit in my Wilson case gauge, I just uniformed the primer pockets and flash holes)
42.0 gr RE-15
CCI - BR2
2.800" COAL
Avg Velocity - 2445 FPS (10' from muzzle)
ST Dev - 19.6
HI - 2487
Lo - 2429
Ex Spread - 58
NOTE: The Nosler brass velocity much lower than SBS brass
168gr AMAX
1x fired SBS (mil) brass
42.0 gr RE-15
CCI - BR2
2.800" COAL
AVG - 2592
STDEV - 20.4
HI - 2635
LO - 2568
EX - 67
Both of the 168 loads are very accurate in my Rifle, I know that the velocities are a little slow for a 168, but they shoot good.
I am assuming the velocity difference is due to the brass, The Nosler Custom maybe thinner and softer vs the SBS mil brass
The next loads test were 175 SMK's all loaded with the SBS brass.
The following load did not shoot very well. There was lateral stringing?
175gr SMK
41.5gr RE-15
BR2
2.810" COAL
AVG - 2543
STDEV - 10.6
HI - 2562
LO - 2531
EX - 3
This next load shot very well, almost as good as the 168's.
175gr SMK
42.0gr RE-15
BR2
2.810" COAL
AVG - 2586
STDEV - 9.3
HI - 2598
LO - 2577
EX - 21 FPS
The next load was not grouping very well, primers flattening, and had one primer loose and blown
175gr SMK
42.5gr RE-15
BR2
2.810" COAL
AVG - 2609
STDEV - 15.9
HI - 2628
LO - 2579
EX 49
The next load had vertical stringing, not a very good group over the ten rounds, flattened and blown primers
175gr SMK
43.0gr RE-15
BR2
2.810" COAL
AVG- 2623
STDEV - 10.6
HI - 2643
LO - 2606
EX - 37
I only have 200 of the SBS brass, I don't think I will use them anymore for my tOBR loads.
I shot some of the CBC 150gr stuff I bought last year. It shoots like crap-crap and is very dirty. The RE-15 powder is very clean, even with the suppressor on too.
I will try the CBC brass next, or maybe I will just break down and buy some more of that really expensive Nosler, Lapua, or Norma brass
Bottom line, I think I will work around that 42.0 grains of RE-15 powder, velocity is good for an 18" bbl and it shot very well.
I may get some more of the 168gr SMKs too. Rounds count I am up to a whopping 193
I hate the stupid YHM mount, it tightens up between the notches and when it backs off the half notch, it is loose and the rounds go all over the place. No baffle strikes just flinging the friggin rounds everywhere!
Can't wait to get my Specwar 7.62. Hopefully the mount will be much better.
I also have my eye on a Thunder Beast Arms 30CB9 with the muzzle brake mount. To me, that design is almost like direct thread mounting.
