So I think I'm going to be canceling my order for the predatAR 5.56. It's is just taking them to long to get my rifle done. Wanted to get your opinion on what other rifle you guys would get if you couldn't get a larue?

I'm waiting for demand to settle down before trying to buy one again.

I'd wait if I were you. Unless you like to settle for second best.

You waited 5 years to make your 31st post, I'd of thought waiting for a premier AR for a few weeks wouldn't be an issue. You also won't get a christmas card from the guy who moves up in line!

"What if" is one haunting bitch... unless you have more coin than you know what to do with.

Definately - cancle your order - someone out there actually needs and deserves that rife, why dont you call Mattel and see if they cant build you one.

Definitely wait... in the meantime stock up on ammo and buy an optic for the incoming rifle.

Not a good idea, man. Hold out, it's worth it. Bail now, you wasted all that time and will be settling for less. Waiting blows, but you won't remember it within a few days of getting your rifle.

Dude, don't back out. Some things are worth waiting for. One of those things is a Larue rifle. Just stay in line, you'll regret it later if you get out.

I'd wait. Eventually you'll have a great rifle. Waiting sucks, but in this case it will be worth it.
When I ordered my OBR I had in in 8 days, but I would wait a few months no problem. |

I'd been waiting since November. I share your pain. Just wait it out, use this time to save some money to pimp it out when you get it. That's what I did. I have everything I possibly want for my PredatAR now! Just waiting for that phone call.

Probably not best to ask this question in the LT forum. However, I do understand your frustration with the backlog!

The only opinion you will get in here is to wait, there is no second best when being compared to a LaRue. Why would you waste your money on an inferior product from a different company, only to eventually turn around and spend that money again on what you really want, and what is really the best option. If you have that much money, order a Stealth and build a rifle while you wait. Its way to early in the year to start making decisions like the one you are considering. |

Don't cancel. Wait. You will be glad you did. I have a PredatAR 5.56, and it is well worth the wait. I have a PredatAR 7.62 on order now.

How did you manage to pull that off? I'd buy an OBR in a heartbeat for an 8 day wait. I waited over 5 months for my predatar. It was worth it. Many times I considered calling and canceling the order. But I didn't. I waited and I'm happy with it now. What was rough was my FFL got it one day, I knew because I had the delivery confirmation, but didn't transfer it to me for whole other day, because he hadn't logged it in. Talk about agonizing. It was here, but you can't have it. Plus mine had a slight issue on stuff I'd ordered with it, so I had another week on top of that to make it right. That's what I'm hung up on now. I'd purchase another Larue gun, but don't want to go through that wait again. Don't cancel you'll regret it. Plus I don't see wait times going down anytime soon with the new shot show stuff. |

Thanks, for all the replies. I'll give them a couple of more weeks and see what happens. I placed my order back in early Nov. and having it shipped to WA since I'm in grad school up here.

I'm glad you're waiting. Remember that it takes a while to summon the Gods of accuracy, then assemble the parts on the alter of the dillo....

I called down the "List of Texas Dealers" today and one of them had two OBR's in stock - 7.62's - one 16" and one 20". In stock, new, and available for sale. I don't remember who it was - I believe they were in Austin or maybe San Antonio/New Braunsfels area. I was looking for a PredatAR, so didn't write down Dealer's name. Some quick calls tomorrow morning would find them pretty quickly ... Look at me - trying to spend YOUR money!! Edit: Here's the List that I called - I think it was "The Bunker" in San Marcus: McBride's - Austin (512) 472-3532 The Gun Store - Cedar Park (512) 335-5534 JP-Ten Sports - Farmer's Branch (469) 744-4478 Central Texas Gun Repair - Georgetown (512) 868-8072 The Bunker - San Marcos (512) 212-1803 |

You already said you would give it a few weeks but while your waiting start thing about dressing that rifle up...Like everyone else said wait it out you will not find a rifle like it for the value hence the high demand. The "fine Americans" at Laure are not just sitting on their hands...I'm sure Mark is cracking the whip trying to get them out as soon as possible not to mention they have 4 new rifles and new furniture as well. No regrets! |

Be patient. How will you ever graduate to a suppressor if you cannot learn patience?
Seriously, it will be worth the wait. |
