Just got it mounted today...I think it's looks pretty cool on my new rig Anxious to get to the range and try it out with the new optics! This is the Illuminated Reticle on my new Leupold Mark 4 I have a Leupold Mark AR 3-9, and the eye relief is horrid in my opinion. How much eye relief are you getting? Mine has maybe a 1/4 inch window of actual useful view. I might just have to spend the extra money on a nicer optic. My new Leupold Mark 4 has generous eye relief. I can adjust the stock all the way either direction and still have plenty of eye relief...way more than 1/4". I'd say I have somewhere between 4-6" of eye relief with this scope. I'm really pleased with my new scope. RDS's don't care where your head is when you look through them. But every Telescopic sight I've ever owned had a 'range' or 'zone', the 'eye box', that your eye had to be in. Some scopes have a larger 'eye box' than others, but they all have one. That's why you need a consistent cheek weld when you shoulder the Rifle. ETA: dang not paying attention again and missed page ownage. |

If you are dissatisfied with the Mark AR, don't assume it has any similarity or bearing on the Mark 4. Go on LT's site and price the Mark 4 scopes and you'll see what I mean. Not knocking your scope, just like I wouldn't knock a Ford, I just wouldn't compare it to a Ferrari. |

183 days for me today, exactly 6 months since I both placed and paid for my order.
Thinks it's time to cancel and move on. Absolutely NO communication from them over the past 60 days. I hope some of you are having better luck, but my patience has run out. |

I think this is going to be a good week for future OBR owners. |

I called in the beginning of March and I was told that the rifle (18" OBR) would be ready mid to late April. Called today and I was told I could expect the rifle in May or June.

Just talked to a very nice gentleman at LaRue, and now I'm going to take a deep breath and sit back down by the Margarita blender for 2 weeks.
Then I'll go insane again. Film at 11. |

Ok. Since I'm sitting here by the margarita blender in LaRue purgatory for the next 2 weeks, does anyone have the perfect margarita recipe?
I'll have 2 weeks to try them out, so any suggestions would be appreciated. If this takes off, I'll start a new thread. Now I'll be looking for my lost shaker of salt... |

Hey guys... been lurking the past couple days since I started to get impatient with my OBR order... sounds like I haven't even gotten started with my waiting.
Put in my order with the only dealer around that would agree to order LaRue (even though they've never ordered from them before).. guess they haven't made as much of an impression up here in the northern mid-west... hope to change that. Fortunately, the gun dealer I picked is a local business and I have gotten to deal with the one employee I respect; he has personally made the order for me and kept me up to date. It's cheaper than buying an FFL license anyway. I called today to see if the person I got a hold of at LaRue would give me a different time table than they gave my dealer, but unfortunately they said that "All OBR orders will be around 14-16 weeks." Which is the same amount of time they told me when I ordered it on April 12th. I really feel for some of you who ordered last year even as far as October or September... I don't think I'd be able to wait that long, ugh. But, from what I found earlier in the thread, the OBR 5.56's (which is what I ordered, an 18" to be exact), are actually coming in sooner than expected, so I'm holding on to that hope [crosses fingers]. I really hope this forum attracts more LaRue customers so that we can know more accurately when their guns are being shipped & what kind of time tables we can expect. |

From what I can see, there are no reports that the 5.56 version is back ordered.
The hold up is the 7.62 version. |

I had hoped that trying to forget I ordered a 7.82 OBR (18") back in October was like not watching the pot of water. Has anybody else who ordered one back that far received theirs?

I ordered my 16 in OBR 5.56 on 31 Jan. It was delivered around 24 Feb. I won't be back home to pick it up 'til the end of May. I feel for y'all that are still waiting on yours to be made. How pissed do you think the wife will be if I want to go straight to the gun store to pick it up after being deployed for a year?

Quoted approx. 12-14 weeks. I better sell some more bodily fluids before the wife sees this on the CC.

Going on 4 weeks now (tomorrow), so I guess I have a minimum 10 weeks and a maximum of 13 weeks left to wait....

Right off the Freedom Bird, through the airport, and "straight to the gun store", you're likely going to get a very negative counseling statement... Stop by a No-Tell for a couple hours before you kick in the doors to the gun store, you might get a raised eyebrow and a head shake... Hard to tell, since pics of the wife are not loading... ![]() |
