Is this mainly for the 7.62 OBRs or is it taking into account all OBRs?

I'm thinking of putting an 18 inch 5.56 OBR on order soon, but I'm not exactly a patient person lol. I mean, if I'm told 14-16 weeks and it's going a few days over that's one thing and I can live with it. But going way over that without an explanation or an estimated shipping date? Not my cup of tea.

So curious, what's the wait time on the 5.56 versions versus the 7.62 versions?

I'm interested in 5.56 wait times too. Seriously considering cancelling my 7.62/ 18" and switching to a 5.56/ 20".

Anybody have any info on that?

If you read back earlier in this thread, either the top of this page or the one prior there are those who ordered 5.56 OBR's and received them fairly quickly.

Lucky. The PredatAR production time is slower'n a Lufthansa A343 climbing out of DFW on an August afternoon.
I've spent just about all my money on camera gear, guns and strippers. The rest, I've wasted.

Looks like 5.56 is a 3-4 week wait as opposed to the 7.62 which no one is really sure how long the wait will be since there have been no reports of people receiving their 7.62s since like Feb. And no one can get a straight answer from LaRue. There are people who ordered their 7.62 obr back in October who still haven't had any visits from the OBR stork I'm in the same boat as you though. Waiting on my 20" 7.62 but every time I try to talk myself into going with a different caliber, or heaven forbid a .308 from a different company, I always wind up deciding to just stick it out and wait on the 7.62 OBR to show up since I have yet to read a single bad article or review on them so to me it just makes sense to weather the storm and pass the time by loading up a stockpile of handloads and caressing my 5.5-22 NXS telling myself that someday I'll have a gun worth puting it on... Someday....

The biggest thing that frustrates me is that everytime i call I get a different story. 3 weeks ago I was told I would have my 20 in 762 OBR in two weeks. 2 weeks ago I was told by the end of April. Last week I was told we don't know. How does it go from 2 weeks to ???????? If it's going to be 2 more months just say.

The hold-up is with the 18" 7.62 OBR. Nobody really wants the 5.56 stuff, so it's easy to get. The OBRs are on an indefinite hold - meaining LaRue has demonstrated that they have no intention of shipping any for the foreseeable future. They have too much on their plate to even be able to estimate a time when they can get back to regular orders.

That said, I suspect the real problem with LaRue right now is a lack of management focus on (or even a basic understanding of) customer service. They seem to be so focussed on their gravy -Mil orders - that their bread and butter customers have been utterly forgotten. You get different stories because they don't have a mindset of telling their customers the truth and getting their buy-in. Instead, they say whatever they think will placate that particular caller to get them off the phone. The thing that I find disappointing isn't that I have to wait. I'm all for letting these young guys out there risking their lives for me get their stuff as soon as they can. (To say nothing of LaRue's finaincial interest in getting the contract completed - I'm a capitalist at heart too.) What's disappointing is that LaRue thinks it's better (or easier) to lie to me than to let me help them. It's insulting. That said, I'm told they have the best stuff on the market, so I'm going to wait. I'm at nearly 200 days and counting. Now, if it turns out to be crap, then I've got the guy who recommended LaRue to me in my sights...

This is surprising to me. At the beginning of March, I called and they were quoting 14-16 weeks on ALL rifles. I called a week later to get some more information about the rifles, and they were still quoting 14-16 weeks on ALL rifles. On March 14, about a week later, I called to see if there was any info about the new hybrid or Costa rifles, and they said, "No", and quoted 14-16 weeks on all rifles. That night, they released the hybrid onto the website and I placed an order. When I called in two days later to shore up my FFL, I was told 14-16 weeks on ALL rifles. I ordered a PredatAR on the 19th, and when I called the next day about the FFL, I was told 14-16 weeks on ALL rifles. Two weeks later, I decided what 7.62 that I wanted, and again, ordered it, called about the FFL, and was told 14-16 weeks on ALL rifles.

I can not identify who I was talking to, it was a man (sounded youngish) who answered the phone, and I believe it was the same man each time. I would ask about the wait time and then get transferred to Juli. Despite conflicting information on here, I never pushed the issue with him, I just took what he said at face value. I figured he is giving me the best information he has.

I guess we'll see in another 9-11 weeks, but I have gotten a consistent answer EVERY time I've called.
Keep in mind that my opinion is worth what you paid for it.

I called them twice in pre-sales calls, which I don't think is a lot to ask for someone to speak with you about what was eventually over $8000 in rifles. Besides that, each call was the mandatory call to notify them about my FFL being sent. I also get the feeling, that compared to some people, I didn't call much at all. Frankly, I'd have preferred more information than what I was able to get regarding the rifles before I ordered, but information doesn't seem to flow freely from LT, and I felt like it was just their culture to expect the buyer to take a little leap of faith, so to speak, when they ordered a rifle. I haven't seen anyone disappointed yet, so I took the plunge.

Just sayin...

Hey now, I'm still following this thread.

That being said, I stand by my recommendation from a quality standpoint. LaRue stuff is really good. I'm sad, though, that my recommendation is falling flat in the customer service area.

FWIW, I called LaRue 2 days ago to check up on my order for a 20" 7.62 OBR and the gent I spoke with said it would probably be another 4 weeks. Now judging by the various reports on different ETAs people are getting I don't know if that was a realistic figure or if the ETA they pulled out of a hat for Wednesday was 4 weeks but hey, it's something. I guess... oh and BTW I placed my order Feb, 23rd (order #21208)

As far as the quality goes, I have no doubt on that. Larue is the best thing I have ever shot. If I did not think they were of great quality, I would not care when it was delivered. All the people there that I have spoke with with are also great.

Only if you understand quantum physics and the theory of relativity.

Relative to the age of the universe, you will receive your gun in "3 weeks", which, when rounded off to the nearest order of magnitude, means you will receive your gun instantaneously, or even before you ordered it if you did so before dusk in the southern hemisphere.

Finally decided on and ordered my optics for my new OBR 5.56 16". I went with the Leupold Mark 4 2.5-8 36mm with Illuminated TMR Reticle. I love the reticle, the eye relief and so far just about everything about this scope. Just got it mounted today...I think it's looks pretty cool on my new rig

Anxious to get to the range and try it out with the new optics!

This is the Illuminated Reticle on my new Leupold Mark 4

This is my new Leupold Mark 4 after I mounted it using LTs QD LT-104 mount

This is the entire rifle with my new optics mounted.

I have a Leupold Mark AR 3-9, and the eye relief is horrid in my opinion. How much eye relief are you getting? Mine has maybe a 1/4 inch window of actual useful view. I might just have to spend the extra money on a nicer optic.

My new Leupold Mark 4 has generous eye relief. I can adjust the stock all the way either direction and still have plenty of eye relief...way more than 1/4". I'd say I have somewhere between 4-6" of eye relief with this scope. I'm really pleased with my new scope.
