I got my OBR 7.62 today. Definitely worth the wait. I just wish that I could have ordered a PreditOBR at the same time like I wanted to. Its the waiting to start waiting thats the worst.

When did you make your order? Thanks

I ordered on 01/11/12. Makes me wonder if they make them in batches. 16" this month 18" next month type of thing.

I take that to mean you got a 16" then right? I'm tired and don't like to assume

ETA: Just saw the other thread...cool. Hope 18's are next

Were you quoted a wait time when you ordered?

You are lucky! I ordered in 10/11 and was told 14-16 weeks and still no word on mine.

What configuration did you order? The 7.62 is taking much longer than the 5.56 in the OBR line it seems.

He has, I don't want to get into it too much. No biggie though, I just heard from Alfred and I'm sure everything will get taken care of.

Joe

So, even weeks after Alfred told me to have my buddy contact him directly, my buddy cannot get in contact with Alfred and was told by one of the phone answerers that he won't be able to talk to Alfred because Alfred is on other projects now. Apparently it doesn't matter that Alfred told him to call. The guy on the phone also told my buddy that his 18" OBR ordered in October (with a delivery date of mid-December) will not be delivered for the foreseeable future as they now have military contracts to fill. He was told, though, that he can go to the back of the line for a 16" gun. I'm not sure what's happening in Leander, but this is certainly not the type of customer service I'm used to from LT. I'm surprised that my buddy had to call to even find out (2 months after it was supposed to be delivered) that they were not going to ship his gun (He emailed a few times and I emailed Alfred back after he emailed me and we didn't get any responses). I understand military contracts are the top priority, but to not even tell people you are not going to fill their order seems strange, and then to tell him that he can wait another 4-6 weeks for a 16" gun seems crazy. Maybe I'm off base here, but treating someone who is trying to spend around $3,500 on your products this way is fairly unacceptable.

I'm not trying to call anyone out, but it seems impossible to get any responses or answers without posting here. I ranted and raved about how great LaRue's service was and insisted that my buddy spend his money with LT, and now he is getting the run around. You're making a liar out of me. What's happening?

Bump for effect. Good thread lets see if someone can find out whats going on. Hopefully the delays are just due to massive expansion of their manufacturing ability so everyone can be built out quicker.
Remember, underpromise/overdeliver hehe.

Your description of the tone of that call doesn't sound like LaRue. Your buddy is understandably upset though. He might be coloring that conversation with his discontent.
Not judging you, your buddy or LaRue, just saying...

Today mark's the 112th day (and counting) in my wait for my pre-paid-in-full 18" OBR 7.62... I've placed several additional "small" orders through LT since placing my weapon order, all of which arrived quickly along with the generous swag gifts... although at this point, the only LaRue item I have any actual personal experiance with is the Dillo Dust all the rest of the stuff is still sitting new in the packages eagerly awaiting a rifle to be installed on.

I dont mind waiting for a high quality product that is also obviously in high demand... but I do agree it would be nice if LT was up front with those of us waiting paitently and give us an accurate estimated time of arrival.

Meanwhile, to help pass the time, I have decided to take up another (new for me) hobby of RELOADING! I wonder how many different custom 308 loads I can assemble small test batches of before my weapon arrives?

Give me a second. Let me count my fingers and toes. Day... 133 for me. I was hoping to have it here to take my younger brother out to try it out before he shipped to Afghanistan but he'll be leaving within a week so I'm a bit bummed.

...I wanted to get him bit by the OBR bug before he left.

Ordered mine 12-30-11, arrived at FFL 2-24 12. I was in Louisville, KY at SOS/Ntl. Gun Day Show and had to wait another 3 long days to get in hand. Was quoted 12 - 14 weeks; lucky I guess.

130 days for me, but I'm a patient person. I hope ML's post means they speed it up soon. Those CMC machines are not easy to commission, so my guess is we're talking months, not weeks. I just wish they would give us an ETA to shoot for. Literally.

Has anybody waited longer than 130 days or am I the only one?
