I was notified this evening by the Chief Financial Officer that funds have been released for the purchase of one (1) PredatAR (16-inch 5.56). With the knowledge that Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Eve Recovery Day are around the corner, what's the current wait on 'em?

4-6 weeks still I'd imagine. I'm on wait from November 15th.

If you are looking for a 16", you will have better luck... The 18" is taking forever.

Placed my order a few minutes ago. Quoted 12-14 weeks, but "we're gonna beat that." Glad Larue's business is booming, but goodness... Just need to keep reminding myself of the saying: "You want it done fast, or you want it done right?"

Ordered mine on 12/23 and was told 6 to 8 weeks for now, but the lead time would most likely shorten after the holidays.

Order placed 11/30 for PredatAR in 7.62

I was told 6-8 weeks but they planned on beating the estimate.

Ordered my PredAR lite on November 3rd, quoted 4-6 weeks and I'm still waiting. I was hoping I would have received it for Christmas and the week vacation I'm on now, but my test of patience continues. Called last week and was told it wan't ready and couldn't extract any further info. I just wish I could be given a timeframe of expected completion...this blind waiting is not fun.

I agree 100%. I don't like having that much money sitting in my bank account waiting for them to bill me.

Been waiting since Oct 20 on my 18" OBR and was just told 4 more weeks. I guess I can buy that scope and keep saving for the rifle.

Does anyone remember the wait when the OBR was first introduced?

I don't think anyone doubts it will be worth it. We all know it will. What a few others and myself are upset about is that we were told a time frame in which to expect our rifle with the chances of them beating that time frame. When it came round bout that time they extended it, then extended it again, and then again. A 3-4 week waiting period has turned into a 8+ week waiting period with no sign of hope (I understand SHOT sucks alot of their resources and understandably so). I also understand that things happen and there is no way for them to give an accurate time frame when relying on other people or manufacturers. My biggest thing is that I needed the rifle for Christmas, which I was told would happen. Not a big deal it didn't. However, I do really need it by Feb. 4th for its big debut and I am holding on to hope that this will happen, but after reading another thread of a 12 week waiting period I am beginning to loose hope.

I understand you frustration and sympathize with your plight; however, I also understand that the commercial market is not the only sector that they service. When I see wait times like this, I automatically think that there is a gigantic .mil or .gov order that has taken priorities away from the rest of us. I'm fine with that. I'd wait a year if I knew that my order was pushed aside so that those that are protecting us are getting stuff first.

You guys need to take any time estimate from a gun manufacturer with a grain of salt. There are many factors that take place when getting these out the door, and I would rather wait than sacrifice the quality of the gun.

Good points, all, and I understand that deadlines and business partners and large orders can cause delays. What is really starting to pick away at me is that the couple of times I've called to inquire as to 'where we are' in regards to estimate of completion, I'm not given any info....just that it should be 'soon'. I'm over 8 weeks now, was told 8 weeks on the outside and 'we'll probably beat that', and my Christmas present and the week I took off of work to get acquainted with my gun has come and gone. And still no communication. I don't want to be an a$$hole and call again, so I'm left to just wait more, not knowing wtf or when I'll receive the rife. I just hope I don't start reading posts about 'range day orders' being delivered and I'm still rifleless....or, even worse, that the OBRatAR (PredatAR with the OBR barrel) is now an option - as that is what I asked for when I ordered my gun and was told 'not an option'.

Positive side - I did order and receive a LaRue mount for my 'yet to be mounted' Primary Arms Micro and it really is a piece of art, just a beautiful piece of 'precision'. Dillo and GBOT stickers were also very cool.... I'm hoping that a little bit of the Dillo Dust is included with my Pred, as I'm dying to see what the big fuss is all about....and I am a sucker for the spices!!!

So I pass this 'patience-challenge' by looking at pictures, reading about all you guys who have the guns and love them so much, and what else I can spend my money on at LRT...and wait....

Be good,

TomK

If it comes to that couldn't you just call and change your order? I don't know when SHOT's products become available for purchase, but if the OBRatAR is taking pre-orders just change games and learn to love the wait.
