i was going to include the littles, A2, Gas Tube, and Handguard also, but if you guys thought this was going to be a $199 barrel, well i am paying more then that. So lets nuke this thread and move on.

the last Spikes GMP uppers we sold were $629.95, so we have always been talking a premium product.
We could do them cheaper by getting some Korean or Chinese parts but we have never been thinking that way. |

To be fair to all those that you feel are balking at the price, there are a few times in this thread when pricing details were requested before production began but they went ignored. View Quote |

This is true, but they also talked about a novemberish delivery date with 3 SKUs but that was 8 months ago View Quote There was clearly a disconnect on a price point when a majority of the barrels on Faxon's site are sub $200. I can buy into an increased cost for a special run, but the price was requested long before production started. This discussion should have happened in 2016. |

Please convince me to order this- What is the theoretical advantage of this $300 faxon nitride barrel vs the nitride barrel in a psa dissipator that they are selling as part of a $399 rifle kit? Is it solely the different profile? Has the faxon steel aged like a fine wine over the life of this thread giving it some magical qualities?
No slight at all intended to AIM, who has delivered awesome surplus guns, parts and ammo for years and years. Regardless, many thanks to AIM for trying to fill this niche so long ago. |

How can you even compair a Faxon barrel to a PSA barrel? Thats like compairing a Dodge Neon to a Ferrari. Faxon takes the time to make a quality barrel and has outstanding CS from what I have seen, they stand firmly behind their products. PSA has someone else make their barrels, source is unknown and PSA will not share that info with the exception of the FN barrels. PSA can have QC issues from time to time and CS lacks big time. That said I have a PSA Freedom upper and its has been great but had a canted FSP, the barrel is of good quality and it shoots well. If you want top quality Faxon is hard to beat for the price point. Thanks Faxon for being able to sell us quality at a low cost.
As for the $300 for the dissy barrel, I as a consumer feel that is a good price. Given the quality, Gunner type profile, lower quantity run, lpgb, fsp ect ect. I was expecting to see a complete upper priced at $500-600ish so $300 for complete dissy barrel seems about on par. I was blown away at the responce by Aim and Faxon on the requests for a dissy upper. You just dont see companies so directly involved in customer requests on a product. Truely outstanding. |

The photo looks good. Looking forward to more info (weight).
I don't think the price is out of line. They're installing a lpgb and a FSB. I don't think an extra $100 is unrealistic. One question, and please take this as constructive criticism. Why the shoulder behind the gas block? No one is going to be installing a set of handguards there and the gas block is pinned. Since weight reduction is one of the goals than I don't see the need for what is essentially superfluous material. Now if only the Cdn dollar didn't suck donkey balls. |

I think the beer last night caused me to misinterpret the info on Aim's website. I did break down and order a PSA middy last week because I wasn't sure when these were going to be available. The PSA is a Nitride 1/8 middy gas Dissipator flattop upper half and was only $199. I really wanted the lightweight Dissy and when Aim lowered the price (still a bit too high, but they are the only ones making this barrel available), I had to get it. The plan is to install the Faxon on an A2 upper and I am not sure what to do with the PSA barrel now. I'd make another rifle out of it, but I am short a BCG and CH. View Quote |

How much does it weigh? You have every possible spec except for the weight.
.750" gas block with a shoulder? I don't get it. You guys could easily trim some unnecessary fat from this bad boy. It just looks like an exact copy of the Spikes Dissy. |
