Finally made it out to the range today with the upper I built around the Faxon barrel I agreed to beta test for AIM. I honestly didn't expect it to shoot tight groups right off the bat as in my experience a barrel usually needs a few hundred rounds down the bore before groups tighten up.
The upper was built with Spikes receiver, Faxon barrel, ALG tube and AIM BCG.
I threw a Bushnell Elite 10x Mil/Mil in a Larue SPR mount on top to finish it off.
After a brief function check and rough zero at 50yds, I moved to the 100yd bay. Here is the target. The top half was the with Faxon gun shot off a bipod and rear bag. The bottom half was shot with my BCM standard 16'' mid KMR gun.
I must admit the first outing was a bit disappointing but I am not going to bash the barrel just yet. I'm going check the barrel again and make sure it is tight in the receiver and shoot a few hundred rounds then shoot some groups again. I should have another update within a week or two.
